Your missing the point. I don't think there's an Architect alive that purchases his resources off the bazaar, you just can't get the quantities required. That doesn't mean you shouldn't be charging at least the going rate for the resources. Why charge that much? Because a person can make 100k easily in 8 hrs or less if they really wanted to. So 20k for a small house would be chump change to someone who has long term goals, which should be everyone who plays, and unfortunately isn't.

It's not 5x the cost if the Market Average that high, and believe it or not, the massively deflated price on architect wares will eventuallycause a stagnation in the market. Once everyone has what they want they won't have the need for the architects anymore.New characters... 6-8 Months the new players will taper off (it's about how long it takes for software to drastically lower in price on the shelf, and there are people waiting for that to happen before they buy). You'll probably see another surge come time for the expansion.

From what people have been telling me there's been problems similar to this on all the MMO's, which is really sad. Not the Developer's fault because there's really no way to combat the Power Gamer attitude other than by limiting how long a person can play each day. And if that were to be implemented no one would pay for a monthly fee to play the game.

Finally, the purpose of keeping the cost up is to prevent the market from becoming flooded with useless items that no one will buy because they already have everything they want because it was so cheap to get. I would use real life examples, but there really aren't any that can truly correlate between the two. BTW, did you know that there's an 800% markup on Jewelry in real life?

Side note, but interesing I thought.

A couple days ago on NPR there was a report from a guy who was doing an economic analysis of the Everquest economy. If you go to the site you can probably find and listen to this report online. It was funny because he was saying that Everquest was doomed with constant deflation, a result of things not deteriorating.

This should give the "deterioration" camp some breath.

Speaking of deteriorating . . . do houses? Or, rather . . . do they require maintenance fees? SOME kind of mechanic to eventuall take them OUT of the market?

I JUST got novice architect and I'm curious.

Small - 20k

Medium-100k

Large-210k

PA Hall-700k

Everyone is gonna say these prices are too high but why don't you look at other professions, Weaponsmith's sell laser carbines or rifles for 20k sometimes and they only use 100-200 resources each while a small house uses about 4k resources. Why is it that we should price so low, I selling stuff faster than I can make at these prices so you guys are only missing out by having prices so low.

Ok, voice of reason here.

Yes, "fighters" have hundreds of thousands of credits, upwards of millions.

But what about Master Musicians? None of that gets passed onto us, unless you count the 100 credit tips I get once in a while.

I had to get a benefactor to help open my cantina, and I am BARELY paying maint on it now by running all sorts of kill the nuna missions.

I think there should be a sliding price scale, myself.

5c per unit, no less, anything else is just giving it away. It not the point that I could sell cheaper and still make a profit, the point is I could sell my resources to another craft class like weaponsmith and make a profit with 0% chance of crit fail =)

Martyn...A suggestion to ease your money issue. Rent out your lots. At most you will need 6 for a large house. Take the other 4 and offer to lease them to an Architect. He pays the power and maintenance on them. He collects the resources. You just place them and put him on the Admin list for them. Charge him a reasonable fee. 1k/lot per week would be cheap for him and provide you with enough to maintain a small house. If you have a small house, you have 8 lots to rent out...therefore more cash. It takes a little work on your part, but figure on moving the harvesters for him about 2-3 times a week. A lot less hassle than destroy missions, and you will have a good relationship with an Architect when you need better furniture.

I generally sell for 3.5 / resource. If I'm in a foul mood or already have a lot of orders, I'll kick it up to 5 / resource. I won't charge anything more than that. i don't care what other professions charge. That's not my concern.
