Okay, ever since one of the big patches I've been getting an irritating number of critical failures during experimentation. Which everyone thinks is retarded especially if the game is telling you that you have 0% of failing.... Anyway, I saw on a thread a while back that there was a command to go to the next experimentation phase (like doing "/sample" if you want to sample resources) and that it helps withavoiding critical failures. Is it true? And if so, what's the command?

You don't have to use the macro commands any longer. Since the latest update, if you get a critical failure, just press the assemble button again. You now have a 0% chance of a critical failure on assembly. You can still crit fail on experimentation though.

Ah I see, thanks.

But is there a command for the experimentation phase anyway? I know I'll still get critical failures, but now I'm just curious if there is a command for that particular phase anyway.

If you look off to the right hand side of your experimentation screen, there is a little vertical are that has lines in it. It's called the risk. Everytime you experiment, that gets bigger, so I'd say that has something to do with the failures also.

Umm...I know that..... But that's my point........ It will say you have "0%" risk of failure............but you still fail...........That's pretty much what I said in my original post......

There are no macros to work around experimentation crit fails that I know of, and even if there were, using them would be kind of sketchy

All experimentation has risk, that red bar is merely the "extra" risk from your resources.

There is always a risk of failure of experimentation, the only question is can you reduce the extra risk to 0 so you only have to deal with the base risk.

Check your tool quality and your station quality - They matter ALOT in the outcome of your experiments. - I did an experiment with a 14.18 tool, and a 4.12 tool. I would fail 9/10 times with the 4.12, and fail 1/20 times w/ the better tool (this was also near a 43.188 station.

Okay, so what's the answer? Can you? If not then, or if you don't know, then can you let me know?

Sorry, the above post was directed to Amri's post. The following one for some reason didn't go through. And about the crafting tools I'm using, I have a 99% effective structure tool and am using a functionality rated station of 49 (supposedly the highest from what I was told).

I have never heard of an ability to "undo" critical failures during experimentation. That is the nature of "experimentation".

the /nextcraftingstage command was used to bypass failures creating the item, you know the ones where you loose all materials and have to add them again, the command would ignore it andmake it anyway. afaik there isnt a command for experimenting. How do you experiment? do you do them all at once? or 1 at a time. Ive been doing them 1 or 2 at a time and I seem to have more consistant final producs because of it.
