Thread: Busier than ever, is this true for you?

3 months ago we were all dying to get some decay in the game, saying without it architects would wither away and die. Right now I am busier than ever. I have orders for over 50 structures piling up, I am 5 million credits and should top 10 million soon. I would have more but I have been buying up holocrons.

Why are we so incredibly busy? Are there so few of us per server? I swear I have made enough deeds that one could walk from Mos Entha to Bestine without having to step on the sand. I just don't get where they are all going. I thought the used deed market would kill us, but Im not seeing it.

One thing that does worry me, I haven't sold a house in 3 or 4 weeks. All business is strictly harvestor business. I imagine this has to dry up sooner or later, but I am riding high now.

Yep I'm busy too. Possible reasons:

1) People leaving the game including some of the established architects which decreases supply

2) Hologrind craze increasing demand for resources and therefore increasing demand for harvesters

3) Ghost town populations where people have characters on other other servers just to increase somone elses city population = need a house

4) Hologrind craze causing some architects to abandon their profession to be an image designer or BH cause the voices in their head told them to.

5) People gradually converting their old stock of pre experimentation harvesters over to the new high BER items.

6) Cities gradually growing and needing new city structures.

7) New players trickling in and looking for new buildings, harvesters, etc.

8) People creating alt accounts so they can play 2 characters on the same server and then needing new buildings, harvesters, etc.

I think that #5 is probably the biggest driver with #2 maybe being a big one too.

Wow. Sorry man, guess your server is a different economy for architect goods than ours. Are the going prices a lot lower over there?

Lecivius,

I skimmed through your servers trade forum out of curiosity. There are a few architects posting there. Some things stood out.

There was someone trying to auction a BER14 fusion for 100k with no takers.

I saw one guy selling BER10 minerals for 37k and he sold about 20 in a day.

Another guy had prices higher than yours but was "restocking" his vendor, indicating he'd been selling stuff.

You might try finding another architect that is doing well that would want to buy from you.

You could also try running a sale on a certain item and advertising that. It will draw traffic to your vendor and then you'll get repeat business and people buying your other items that are not on sale while they are there.

If you don't have your vendor on the planetary map then consider getting the merchant skills to do so, it will make a difference. And/or if your location isn't very active then you might setup a merchant tent or small house outside one of the active cities. Another way to go is to see if a merchant will want to wholesale your goods and you can setup a reasonable price scheme with them. Some merchants are really good at figuring out pricing and learning what will move.

Don't know if any of that will help or if you've tried it all already. Good luck.

the number one reason for our busyness imo are the number of people doing server lot swaps...

i have had orders for 50 extractors.. several orders in fact... the only reason someone would want to order this many extractors is for lot swapping.

I watch my Trade boards. I saw the poor guy selling his fusion at 100k. No takers is a true indication as to how hot the market is. My vendors (4 and 3of them) are all on the world map, 4 on Naboo and 3 on Dantooine. As to the others, I can find a dozen Architects within 2km of my shop selling Medium Harvesters at 13k. I have yet to see anyone doing landoffice buissness in Architecture on Corbantis. There are 3 in my PA, scattered all over. My story is not alone.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the buissness is good for others. I did very well for a while, made a good stack of credits, got a rep as someone who will work with clients ( I bought back things if the client decided in the 1st 24 hours it was not "right"), and I still get the occasional special order. But it has fallen off a cliff in the last few weeks. And I am serious that one cannot run missions on all the beginer planets without being able to hide behind a house or harvester. Also, while playing my alt on Endor I ran across whole fields of heavies, so I am inclined to think saturation is close at hand.

Yeah that is why I am going to start being a little more frugal with my credits. I think we are at the peak and the bubble has to burst soon.

Lecivius,

Ok yes it does sound like your server has hit saturation. 13k for med. minerals is pretty rough. Guess our server will probably hit that point sometime sooner or later too. Wonder if your server has a larger population than mine? Just curious why your market would hit that point before ours.

Renting lots or multiple accounts are other different but similar reasons. I know/ know of people who do either enough to have demand for that many harvesters.

I can agree with the architects who stay busy. Intrepid seems to be having a surge right now on harvesters, I can't seem to keep them 10 minutes after I sell them. They always sell within one day, and that's at 150k. Just today I had someone stop by and buy 4 of them and then ask if I could make them 10 more.

I just picked up Architect at the beginning of this week because the Droid Engineer business has been really slow, and the prices are low on those anyways. Needless to say this week has been crazy.

Maybe on our busy servers we should start raising the prices as anyone would do in a real world situation when demand gets really high. Of course its nice selling things immediately after making them. lol
