As Some of you may be aware of The CSR team is doing a tremendous revamp of the Knowledge Base.. And from what I have seen they are doing a great Job at it to.. Please Take some time and look through the changes.. Especially in regards to the Architect Profession.. And respond here with any Feedback that you may feel will Help. Both on the sections concerning Architect and the whole Knowledge Base Alltogether..

Here are some ways to access this info..

Open your Holocron (CTL H with the default keymap)

Locate and click on the Customer Service button

You are now presented with the Knowledge Base. You can either search byquestion or by a specific KB entry ID (if you know one. I suggest looking at soe8306)

Search the Knowledge Base periodically as you have a spare moment. Focus on your area of expertise but feel free to let us know about any other issues/missing information on any search you perform.

You can also search the KB from the web at:

First comment: They should answer pretty much all the questions addressed by our FAQ. If they haven't covered all those items then they should.

I'm not in game at the moment but I poked around in the web based knowledge base (KB) a little.

I'd best describe the web based interface as "clunky". That search engine ain'ttoo hot, IMHO. Whats the point in putting a bunch of articles in their KB if we can't find them?? But thats probably not something they can fix easily nor the feedback they want right now.

Anyways, they do seem to have a lot of information in the KB. Much of it is pretty useful, good stuff.

I noticed some entries need updating, fixing and some things weren't there that should be. Heres some things I noticed:

There are 2 entries about moving furntiures around inside of your house and they are virtually duplicates but only one of them mentions the /rotate command.

I can't seem to find anything that discusses the maintenance cost of houses.

I don't see anything about lot usage for a cantina

I don't see an entry saying what the range of BER rates are for harvesters.

I'll try the in game version of the KB when I get home and hopefully it will be more usable than the web based interface.

In game knowledge base is bit easier to use than the web format. Least it seems that way to me.

The ones they have are pretty good.

soe8289 - difference between similar and identical

soe7105 - moving items around inside house (soe9160 is duplicate and not as good)

soe9161 - moving items up/down within house

soe7014 - how many lots does my house/harvester/factory/ guildhall use (very good and complete answer)

Sometimes the search engine doesn't come up with the entries that I think it ought to.

For example I tried searching on "house lots" and it didn't come up with soe7014 but both "house" and "lots" are in the title. I try searching on just "house" and it still doesn't come up. However if I try "house factory" (both words in title) then it does come up. Huh??

Then while using the KB in the holocron it got out of wack so that when I double clicked on an entry it would give me the answer to a previous entry rather than the current one. /bugged it

Basically I think that for the most part the items they have are pretty good.

Thank you for kicking off this post Dvnce. The Knowledge Base in game is quickly growing to cover more and more topics and provide the most accurate information possible. On a daily basis entries are published to the Knowledge Base and any errors that are located are fixed and published.fficeffice" />

The exciting thing about the Knowledge Base is that the response time for the entries can be so swift. If you locate an error in the Knowledge Base and bring it to your correspondent we can fix it and have the corrected version in game within hours or even minutes of receiving that information. Any gaps in the Knowledge Base can also be quickly filled.

I’ve asked your correspondent to start a thread like this for two reasons. First the Knowledge Base is very important to us, but right now it is under utilized. I’m working with the Correspondents and the Developers to increase awareness for the Knowledge Base. Soon we’ll be changing some things in game to make the Knowledge Base a lot more visible.

That brings me to my second reason for coming to you – information that is as complete and accurate as possible. When the Knowledge Base becomes more prominent it will be vital for it to be as complete and accurate as possible. We have been working internally and with the Correspondent program to comb the Knowledge Base and add new entries. We would really appreciate it if you could point out anything that you find to be in error, out dated, or simply missing. If you think a question needs to be asked that’s not here please post it, or send it directly to your correspondent. We’ll work to get as many into the Knowledge Base as we can.

Thank you for your support and we really hope that you find the Knowledge Base to be a useful source of information. Please keep in mind that the Knowledge Base is intended to provide information about systems and policies but will not provide direct spoilers.

For quick answers to many game play questions, you may want to first reference the knowledge base located in the Holocron Menu. You can do so by selecting the customer service option and then using the knowledge base tab. We have recently added hundreds of new FAQs and answers and more will be added more daily, so give it a try!

By all means build a KB, but please don't divert resources from other key areas just so that you can do your 'exciting' thing and get updates within minutes. I for one don't want that kind of response time if it means we wait yet another 6 months to get simple problems like the 'Ore Mining Units not in crates' issueresolved. Get your priorities right please, listen to your customers.

Don't worry we're not diverting. The Knowledge Base is being maintained by CS. Development is still charging ahead full steam with new content and bug fixes.

No problem at all. Please let us know if there are any solutions that need work or any topics that are not listed. Please bring all feedback to your correspondent.

If anyone hasn't checked it out lately the knowledge base has a LOT of useful information in it. Most of the typical architect related questions are addressed. Try searching just for keyword "house" and you'll see what I mean.

I strongly recommend skimming through it to see what kind of stuff is there.

Just the other day someone asked how to change the leader of a group and I threw a couple words into the knowledge base search engine in game and out popped the answer. So I've already made good use of this myself.

I had a look at the KB last night. I could not get it to explain BER to me. Maybe I did not word the question right but that is an important thing to explain to players. Something like:

BER is a property of a harvesters, generators and farms, it stands for "Base Extraction Rate." The BER is the amount of resources that the installation is capable of extracting per minute. The actual number of resources that your installation will extract will be your instillation’s BER multiplied by the percentage of the resources’s availability.

I don't know if that is clear enough, it is difficult to put into simple language.

I just wanted to stop by and say that we’re very thankful for all of the input we have received from the community. Over the last few weeks the Knowledge Base has seen literally thousands of new entries in every conceivable topic. Many of the best questions have come directly from these forums.

fficeffice" />

If you have not yet taken a look at the Knowledge Base I encourage you to do so. With Publish 7 (currently on ffice:smarttags" />Test Center and coming soon to a server near you) the Knowledge Base will be more visible with some User Interface changes that are going in. We also hope to further revamp the User Interface for the Knowledge Base in the next few publishes following 7.

If you have questions regarding game systems, even if you know the answers to those questions or think they are silly, please either post here or work with your correspondent to get those questions to us. The more information we can put in the Knowledge Base the more useful it will be for all of us. We are also interested in feedback on existing entries from typos to incorrect wording or information. Bring those to your correspondent as well.

Finally I want to stress again that the Knowledge Base is one of the items in Star Wars Galaxy that we can update and modify whenever we choose. If you see that the Knowledge Base doesn’t cover a topic, or covers it poorly, get your correspondent’s attention and we’ll look at it. Changes made to entries are instantly visible in game and on the web site.

The link to the knowledge base out of game is http://station.sony.com/kb or you can find it in game by opening your Holocron (CTL H) and clicking on the Customer Service button in the lower left.
