Thread: hey, I actually had a good idea
I very much like this idea...
Mainly beacause I'm also tired of seeing 1000's of identical high end items on vendors. There is almost no market for anything that isn't "ub3r". I believe that the posibility of a Lengendary (or whatever you want to call it)success would promote more hand crafting. more hand crafting would produce more variety in quality mostly at the higher end but it would still be variety.

but how would you handle the people who get jealous people will start spamming the boards with crap like hey i used the same material as this person and the same experimentation points and i got a crappy rifle

its an interesting idea...but I always thought exceptional and legendary stuff should be earned...earned through quests and such...but not by camping a spot...so maybe they could fix it...the corvette is a step in the right direction.
And maybe a quest or thempark where we could actually get stuff (or I guess pay people to do it for us)
well reading that i kinda just got the impresion you want to beable to make krayt like weps but with a random exeptional experiment point giveing the boost to the gun.
Personaly i like the way looted enhancements work right now, there expensive and not to easy to get, but there worth it as you get a very night wep out of them usualy, this isnt something id like to see in the hands of ourselfs, as it would just lead to people grinding out weps untill they hit the exeptional experiment point.
it's not an exceptional point or anything.....if you have every crafted something and experimented on it, you get varying results...good success, great success, failure. Let's say you exp on a gun and with a normal success it's power 200, good 203, great 210, legendary 275. I am not saying to replace ANYTHING. what i am proposing is to ADD this. So you can use krayt tissues AND have a chance at the legendary results. it's basically adding a rare chance to make somethign normally good even better. Right now, when people want to make a gun, they do the final combine and experiment as much as they can, as soon as they get the best results they can, they make a schem and mass produce the item, making 1,000 of the exact same gun with exact same stats. My proposal would give those people the same things they have now, but would encourage mre people to hand make items instead of just doing factory runs. current way you experiment once, make the schem and make 1000 items. My way, you would still have that option or you could hand make each item, but have a chance at 1 or 2 much better than average items in that group of hand made 1000 items. It would take longer, and require more work those who want to put in the work, would be rewarded with much better items that they made that could be included with current power ups available. Hand making weapon stocks or so to get that legendary one to include it with krayt tissues would make an awesome krayt enhanced weapon.
Ok, to the smiths who think that they should be able to craft the best stuff in the game....No.
They shouldn't. WHY? because I said do. Also, if you could craft the best stuff in the game, then you would be able to mass produce the best stuff in the game. Then there would be no pride among the hunters. Look at the rifle's owner. He's having a view party for his gun. Look how many people are drooling over it. Now think. What is someone was at his viewing party was to come up to him and say... "Nice gun. You shop at Bob's weapon Emporium too, huh? yeah. I got my exceptional t-21 as well. Nice guy, that Bob."
Now, if artisans and crafter could get EXCEPTIONAL results and Legendary results, BUT couldn't do a schematic on them, sure. Now Imagine if you were messing around and making a good T-21... You experimented and it told you that the experimentation wasa legendary success and you could produce a final product, but not be given an opportunity to make a manufacturing schematic of it. So you WOULD be making the best guns in the game, AND they would still be unique. You'd get a lot more weaponsmsiths and other crafters constantly crafting weapons instead of making the occasional gun to rebuild vendor stock. it would give you something to shoot for. Not as many cookie cutter guns as every smith would spend a day making guns by hand hoping for a legendary experimentation with awesome results. the non-uber guns would get put on the vendor....making each gun good, but not exactly the same as the others.
Imagine that. Taking the time and getting legendary experimentation on a component and waiting to get another legendary experimentation on another component, then finally building your pride and joy weapon. (maybe getting the super rare legendary experimentation mod on the final build) and having that to show to people. Now that would make weaponsmithing exciting instead of the standard Log on, check vendors, check email, replace stock in vendors. log off, play real character.
What do you think? I think it';s such a great Idea, i am posting it to my galaxies board, the smith's professions boards and feel free to copy it to your galaxy if you like the idea.
