Thread: What is the best Rating you have seen for Crafting Stations?

I have gotten a schematic up to +41.41.

I saw a post saying that they made a 42.##.

Anyone able to top that? I am wondering what the Maximum might be.

I believe the max is 49.9999 or 50.

I just can't quite see it getting up to 50 though.

If I just use 998 Conductivity Metal with no optionals then I know I get to 14.9# .

If I use the parts listed below then I get 41.41.

998 Conductivity Metal

99% Droid Storage Modules

94% Control Units

85% Sensor Suites (95% Energy Distributor, 95% Electronics GP module, 94% Control Unit)

If the theoretical maximum were 50 then since I am getting 15 from the metal itself before optional components then it leaves 35 points to be determined by the quality of the components/subcomponents.

Since I am getting to 41.41 that means that I am getting just from components26 out of a potential 35 maximum points which means I am getting 74.3% of the maximum with my components.

Since the lowest of my components is at 85% and the rest are 94%+ I find it hard to acept that 50 is the maximum for a station.

Doing the same calculations for a 45 theoretical maximum (instead of the proposed 50) I see that I would be getting 86.7% of the maximum possble from my components. Even this seems a little strange as it only just edges above the 85% value of the Sensor Suite with very little weighting given to the other values.

So anyway, I want to know what people have gotten as max values for their Crafting Stations.

I've been able to consistantly make 41+, but not quite up to BlackPearl's. I know my sensor suites are 80%, and my storage mods are 98%. The others are the same I think. I'm also using a 986 cond copper (I think).

I am trying out a price of 40k for a +41.41 station.

Sensor Suites are the hardest to do, luckily I found a 884 OQ, 531 Conductivity Steel to work with.

If I could have found a better Low Grade Ore then these babies would have been legendary. I had to use a 700 OQ Ore,I have heard that someone else on another server had access to 999 OQ Ore. If I had that to work with then I could have gotten the Control Unit, Energy Distributor and Electronics GP Module up to 98% - 99% guaranteed. Would have increased the Sensor Suite by a point or two also.

why do people care about stats that to date have proven to do nothing?

I hope no one is promising their customers something they aren't actually getting.... I.E. fewer crit fails, better experimentation results.

there's still no word from the devs and the only posts on this with numbers tend to disprove these make a difference to anyone.

Actually, the only posts I know about have been such low quantities that they niether prove nor disprove. They have been statisitically insignificant tests.

Disproving something is very different to being inconclusive.

well, I did actually write... TEND to disprove... I agree, there is no truly extensive testing thats been done, thats why I get concerned that people are being given bad information based on non existent facts.

would you be upset if thearmor you just bought that you were told was an awesome piece of work because it has no vulnerabilities, but then you found out afterwards that the 1% in other damage it stops makes it basically worthless?

I know thats not the best example, but I hope you see where i'm going... promising something that no one knows anything about would lead to potentially bad feelings later on.

this is more to help those that just assume its better because the numbers are higher than for anyone else.

What prices are good crafting stations' priceusually set at?

I've been producing some 15-20 rated stations and people are asking what I charge, they take a while to make but I'm not sure of what the "going rate" for such things are?

Also, has anyone noticed if the quality of the other crafted parts put into the final combine effects the outcome?

When I first found out about the crafting station numbers, I tried a bunch and I swear one with ok stats (20%) did WAY worse than one with 0 or even negative. But now, I see a difference. My amazings are the same, my criticals are the same (both maybe 2-5%), but anything other than great successes are non-existant...maybe 5%.

I let people know of the facts gathered to date but when people see they are using a -10 station and then they see that one is for sale at +40 they are usually happy to buy it on the CHANCE that it may improve their crafting even a little.

If there is no big effect then hopefully SOE fixes this, might take 6-12 months but I think they would fix it if we proved to them that little effect coes from stations. So they are a good investment even if they aren't working to their full potential now.

I think Perl's point is very good. Even if HQ stations don't currently help that much in the crafting process, it's possible they will become much more capable in the future.

When that happens, Im sure those that bought a 40+ station will be ecstatic.

I agree that the number SHOULD do something... I agree that selling it as something that has potential to definitely have an impact down the road.

I am just trying to give warning to those that don't know, that to date there's no documented evidence that it DOES have any real effect. Thats all. I'm not even saying it absolutely has no effect, although my feeling is thats the case.

I just see way too many threads with people asking how to do this and charging 30-40k for a number that no one knows one way or the other if it really has any impact. If the customer has been warned, then by all means let em spend the credits... I just see a lot of potential for fraud here.
