Thread: What is the best Rating you have seen for Crafting Stations?
FYI: Insure you have the best possible crafting tool and are using it with the best possible crafting station. My crafting tools are rated at 14.97%, and I don't see it being better than this. I"m using 968 conductivity copper, and when I experiment on it, I get a 99% experimentation effectiveness, but the rating is only 14.97, so I think the max would be a 15% rating.
My crafting stations are rated at 33.9% (not bad, but definitely not the best), and the tests that I did on them to see the difference is this:
used a -12% crafting tool on a -9% crafting station building a structural module. The difficulty rating on experimentation was 51% difficulty, resulting in a failure. I then used a 14.97% crafting tool in conjunction with one of my 33% rated crafting stations, and the difficulty rating on experimentation dropped down to 12%, resulting in a lesser chance for failure in experimentation. This is a good thing for any class other than architect.
FYI, I am a Zabrak Master Architect. This may fluctuate if you are a Mon Calamari with racial stat bonus for experimentation.

Fraktur, so you did 2 tests? Using different tools and different stations? so, which was the variable?
I'm interested in seeing real results, but can you please try these over a period of time and keep the tests simple. use one tool at one station for one hundred tries, then use the same tool at the other station for one hundred tries, see if there is a difference when everything else is the same.
My best crafting tool is 12.98
The best station I have seen is just over 30
I am assumed they help, but I cant verify it.

i thought i knew how this crafting system worked, but that throws me all off.... i use a 996 conductivity polysteel copper on intrepid and get 14.88 tools. i use the copper for the metal and mineral slots - it doesn't seem to matter what chemical i use. imo since no chemical has a conductivity rating, they have no effect on the effectiveness (though they can effect the durability).
i am also a zabrak. but my other character is a mon calmari. both are master artisans, master architects and both get the same results.
anyone want to help me understand what is going on here?
Last night with some of my older electronics and some brand new copper I got 39.51. With all latest latest electronics I should be able to crack 40.
If you could get all subcomponents to 99% and the resource for the final combine was 99% then maybe you could get 50.
As an aside anyone else here that would like to see quality numbers on the finished sub-components as well? It would almost certainly open up a market for top end control units etc just like the crafting station quality numbers opened up this market.
I mean I would be interested in buying some 90%+ electronic suites if they were available. However how can I know what number they really are?
I think when there is no conductivity rating on a resource that the overall quality of the resource may take it's palce.
I've noticed that when I use very high overall quality chemicals in crafting station modules and tools, I get much better end results.
i just tried 3 different polymers to test. with each test i used the same copper in the metal and mineral slots. it is 996 conductivity, 410 oq
a - polymer oq 803
b - polymer oq 672
c - fiberplast oq 59
i experiment on all three tools (weapon, droid and general). all experiments were done on effectiveness, to 99%. all experiment resultswere great successes.
all three tools came out 14.88 functionality. the chemical used doesn't seem to effect the functionality
of and by the way - i am asking about crafting tools, not crafting stations. the same methods will produce similar results when making stations, i agree.
but it is much easier to compare two servers to each other when the only thing we are comparing is which copper was used and what the functionality is of the tool made using that copper.
errr - i tried three different chemicals above, not three different polymers. obviously, the fiberplast isn't a polymer ![]()

so what's up with fraktur a few posts up? he had 14.97 using 968 conductivity copper?
i'm beginning to think that was a typo - maybe you are on the same server and are talking about the same copper?
Has anyone tested to see if having storage units actually matters? I did some testing and from the few that I ran for comparison, using storage modules had no effect on the outcome. I would get 35.4 either way.
I have noticed that if you want the most bang for the least work, adding sensor suites gives a much bigger boost than just adding control units. Of course a sensor suite takes a control unit...
Anyway, why the heck is it so hard to make a good sensor suite? I've never been able to experiment one past 85%, and that's using 94-95% bits.
Also with sensor suites, even though the effectiveness says that it's 66% OQ and 33% conductivity, I get better results using high conductive copper in the two metal slots than I do using high OQ Steel (at least 1-2% dfiference initially).
On pricing, I haven't been able to get stuff to make ones better than 35.5 effectiveness, but I sell those for 20K and don't have enough materials to meet demand at that price.

yes, this is correct - for crafting stations (i was asking about crafting tools above)
when you are making the sub components, you want to make the best effectiveness components you can. if you look at droid storage compartment, energy distributer, electronics gp module and control unit schematics, to get the best effectiveness, you are looking for high oq resources. so where those schematics want a polymer, find the highest oq polymer you can.
micro-sensor suite is a bit different. to get the best effectiveness, it is weighted 66% to oq and 33% to conductivity. so do the math and figure out the best resource you can use. if a resource has no rating for conductivity, then it is effectively a 0 conductivity - even the devs have said this in one of their early game guides.
when you do a final assembly of the crafting station, the best effectiveness comes from conductivity if you look at the schematic. so find the best metal (hint - it's going to be a copper) you can and use it for both slots.
