Thread: How to lockout everyone from my house EXCEPT for my guild?

I'm trying to setup a guild-only vendor to sell items, while avoiding other people taking the lower priced items for themselves. Obviously I cannot make the house private, but is there a way to do this?

The guild city is very popular, so just placing a vendor and keeping it off vendor search is not an option.

thanks!

Best thing to do is not put the vendors on vendor search, and "hide them ina building in a city" not 1000% effective but better than nothing.

You can also set a 50k entrance fee and add each member to the entry list individually.
Their name must specifically be on the list or they will have to pay.
Just putting guild:nnn will not let them bypass the fee.

Remember, your vendors are global search enabled by default.
Be sure you disable it.

If you are selling particular items to specific guild members. Put those items in a backpack and name that pack the recipients name. Again not completely foolproof. But most people won't gamble on a pack of items they don't know what's inside.

I've also read of people "hiding" a vendor inside a larger piece of furniture (cabinet, armoire, etc...).

Then use some sort of /target command to find it. Anyone else remember this trick? It was a couple months ago on the form...

Actually lots of people will buy backpacks from vendors. That's why we have community action against order stealers.

That's why it's a good idea to put decoy packs on your order vendors, too.
Careful, tho. There's a fine line to walk between "decoy" and fraud.

I dont think fraud would play into it. There is a box that pops up anytime you buy a container letting you know you are buying it at your own risk. Plus, if the pack does not list in the name whats supposed to be in it, then again there is no fraud. If I was a victim of this kind of thing, I would gladly list backpacks with 10 single powerups for 100k. And I would laugh at anyone who bought one hoping to get something cheap.

A pack labeled "Ub3r Krayt Weapons" that's filled with chance cubes = fraud.

A pack labeled "Bob's Order" that's filled with chance cubes (as long as Bob doesn't have an actual order) = decoy.

here is my opinion on the "fraud" issue

Is the vendor search disabled?

Is the location of the vendor in a house that is clearly not set up as a storefront?

If you say yes to both of these, rule number 1 is CAVEAT EMPTOR. No fraud possible, because the person maintaining the vendor and location has never let themselves out to be a crafter/merchant.

The max fee is 50k

If i list a backpack and call it whatever I want and put fireworks in it and you buy it from one of my storage vendors from one of my crafting houses, shame, shame on you. You got what you deserved.
