Most of my money comes from playing music gigs. Until vehicles came along, I really mostly made stuff for fun.

I like to rename common objects to make new things. I would like to know what sort of items people are making like this. Below is a list of the types of things I make:

Album covers: bone armor segments renamed with SW album parody titles -- I make these for my guild mates and musician friends (examples: Yellow Star Destroyer, Zenyatta Moy'datta, etc.)

Trophies: nemodian bird cages renamed with trophy engravings (example: peoples names with their master title and the date they made master)

T-Shirts: one of the artisan shirt designs renamed with the text I want on the shirt

Towels: fiberplast segments renamed "towel" -- they sit next to my fountain which was renamed "hot tub"

Life Day Tree: a standard architect's potted tree which I have decorated with blob candy

Anyway, I am looking for some new ideas so I can make Life Day gifts for my friends. I would appreciate hearing about any other creative crafting ideas people may have. Thanks.

Surely I am not the only artisan that does this. Anyone else have any "creative crafting" ideas?

Actually, I've heard of people making trophies out of the Nemodian Bird Cages ... but it didn't even occur to me to try any of the other (or similar) things in your list. Brain running on empty right now ... maybe tomorrow I'll be able to come up with some additions

hmmm....

Small storage units make nice magazine racks. I used to make a lot of these with titles like "Today's Rebel Magazine Rack", "Imperial Insider...", "Galatic Architect....", "Wookie Life..." and others. Sadly, with the loss of colored text on items, these things just lost their appeal.

Other than that, I mostly produce items as they default, though I change a lot of the names. Some of the default names for furniture are just about as unimaginative as could be... Sorry, but Potted Tree - Style One is a CRAPPY name... so I call those Shade Tree and Rori Palm (I stole the palm name from soemone else).

Also, four items are called 'couch'....lame... Those that just blindly click the crafter and make four different items with the same name...blech...

Oh...and how bout those statues? Nice job devs...."Wierd Statue" and "Strange Statue" are simply INGENIOUS names................. Those that craft these items with those names.....again....blech. SHOW SOME FORM OF BRAIN FUNCTION PLEASE!

hehe....I am not bitter, just repressed by a system full of lack of imagination and then they take away the only fun I had when they ripped colored text away.

Funny you mention this, Seems my starshine surprises..renamed "Stale Bongwater" sell all the time. I try to rename these with different names and find this one of the fun things to do. Now if we could only do it to Swoops....

I named my crates of Camps. Basic Pup Tents. And the Advanced ones, Moblie Base Units. Worked well for me.

The city that I am a citizen of is constructing a restaurant which will feature a swinging night club, live chefs in the kictchen, public dining, private dining, fireworks shows, and a coat closet. On event nights, we will have it fully staffed with citizens acting as waiters/waitresses, bouncers, chefs, host/hostesses, and other odd jobs. My question is, what furniture and loots would be useful in creating a kitchen out of the back room of a Generic Guild Hall?

Some torches and structure mods might make a nice "fire oven". A vendor, or a PC in some tailored cheff hats and aprons would help that too. Some of the looted decorative bowls might help, and a knife or 2? Basic Armoires stacked properly might give a fridge look.
