That is a neat, neat idea.

Here are some thoughts which might spark some ideas for you:

First a website, www.swg-decor.com. I really like that site and you can see most if not all the furniture and loot available in picture form. There's also a gallery of designs. Garva's home show should provide for some nice ideas as well. I know I've seen neat ideas for sinks and faucets at the least.

I have done the oven idea for a kitchen. I used the curved couches as a chimney and those horrible upholstered chairs to resemble bricks for a "brick oven." Ihaven't tried it, but a properly placed brazier (fire pit) might also work; it just might be too big for the narrow space you're working with. I had a long dining table with food sitting out in various stages. I also liked using the cabinet and armoire that match the dining table since they look to me to reasonably resemble a pantry. If you use the counters, it's a nice detail to double them up w/ a row above to look like overhead cupboards.

There are some nice loot pieces such as the 'decorative bowl' that could serve as a large salad bowl. Maybe even use the looted animal cage and have some small animals in it waiting for.... dinner. And if you feel like going fishing or making a fresh-fish tank that might be a nice touch too.
