I am considering adding Carbineer to my character, just one skill tree (Skill points are getting short)-

Is it worth takeing (my assuption is Carbineer would complement BH Carbine skills)?

If so, what single tree whould one suggest?

Personally I think the BH Carbine specials are plenty. I generally get slightly more carbine XP from my marks than pistol XP. I use the knockdown moves, and I also use Full Auto 1, Suppression Fire (also works with pistol), Action Shot, and LegShot2. I personally wouldn't want more carbine styles to choose from and have to hotkey! Really! (Though, I am looking forward to eventually adding Confusion Shot at BH carbine 4).

But if you're set on adding some carbine skills, the choice is hard I agree. The Tactics line gives you speed... that there could be quite useful. The Special Abilities tree I would avoid since the bonus is for accuracy while moving, and I am usually not moving when fighting my mark (though your technique may vary). The Counterinsurgency line would actually give you some defense... a skill we bounty hunters are sorely lacking. The Marksman line gives accuracy, but frankly I am personally satisfied with the accuracy modifiers currently in place for bounty hunters... though if you wanted to work on targeting action pool specifically it gives you Legshot3 and Crippling Shot.

Guess it sorta depends on your style and what you want to gain. Study the Carbineer skill tree.

Personally, I would not take the Carbineer profession unless you really want the Elite Carbine certification. BUT this is a matter of personal preference, so no one can really tell you what would suit you best. It depends heavily on your playstyle and strategy.

If you are looking for more defense, the Pistoleer's "Pistol Stances and Grips" line gives you the best defenses for a single line out of Carbineer/Pistoleer/Rifleman defense lines. There are some defenses not available in Pistoleer that are available in Carbineer/Rifleman, but Pistoleer gives you the most bang for your skill points.

Check out the Professions Discussion section of http://swg.allakhazam.com/. It allows you to run down the skillsets of each of these professions, and might help you decide what you would like to do. You can also research what the specials do from there.

Hang in there and be tough. Don't let the cheapskates drag you down...it's a difficult rut to escape from. One of the absolute best things about being an architect is that ALL of your components for builds (except for one stupid piece) are given to you at novice. Use this to your advantage.

Figure out how much you need to feed your harvesters every day, plus enough for the occasional uprooting.

Figure out how much money you can make a day from missions. If you don't like doing missions then this number will be zero.

Figure out how much resources you pull up every day.

Whatever costs the missions will not cover needs to come from either sales of product or sales of resources. You can easily sell power for 2 cpu and pretty much any resource for 3 cpu. Sell off what you need too to keep your harvesters running. You'll find you make plenty this way.

Any resources that are left over, make into bricks, then make the bricks into walls.

Also, have a goal. Your first goal should be a small house with a good crafting station. Next you'll want a few medium mineral harvs...whatever you feel you need to expand your business...make yourself your number one customer.

Enjoy the trade...it's a fun one...just don't play the game of the cheapskates. Good luck!

If you have a vendor in your home or access fees, you get "Merchant" experience. This is used in the "Merchant" profession, so if you're not going to spend the experience in the tree, don't worry about it. It comes in fairly fast, every couple of days I have enough for a new box. I keep getting boxes so I can hold more experience but I'll probably have to drop it when Urban Planner goes live.

i have 0020 bh and 4133 left over on TK. I have enough pistol experience to get novice pistoleer and get pistol stances 1. Should I went on beefing up my bh with pistoleer skills until after I get master bh or should I do it now? I'm not sure whether the defenses for TK work for BH, but if they do the defenses for TK are way better than pistoleer so there is no sense selling back the skills for worse skills until i need to. But, i will almost have enough for pistol stances 2 after I train 1, so I will be able to move up that tree rather quickly. Is pistol melee defense 1 that good or should I stick with the TK defenses until i need to get rid of them? Ha i know this is all really confusing I havent put it too eloquently but I would appreciate any help. If further information is needed just ask Thanks!

my advice, as stated a few times before, would be to take out all your marks with your prior elite and then when you are BH 4/0/0/0 consider the combat options.

If you want to PvP you are going to want Composite Armor, preferably with Stun layers in the helm.

Some shots to use are:

- FlushingShot2 - To Stun your target

- StrafeShot2 - Big damage shot, random HAM

- HeadShot 2/3 - Damage shots to the mind pool.

You should also invest in some Vasarian Brandy and Ahrisa or Canape, so you don't damage your own mind too much with special move costs.

Hope that helps.

Another thing...I notice you are Master Rifleman and Master Doc, you should consider picking up Novice Brawler with your left over points for the intimidate skill, its extremely useful both in PvE and PvP.
