Thread: Critically Failing on Houses= Ridiculous
I failed a factory yesterday.
Is it random or is there a mean to be sure to not fail ?
How the hell do I find out what recources are good and what recources are bad?
Besides, if the recources are good enough to make the componants, why should they fail to make the house? All your doing is putting the house together with the recources you made...
I've been lucky and haven't failed yet on a house, although I've certainly had my share of failures on structural modules.
One thing to look at also is the quality of your crafting tool. If you're using a tool you made the 2nd day of being a newbie Artisan, you probably WILL fail more. Make sure you have crafting tools that you've made to the BEST of your ability.
Most schematics mention what quality is the most important. Sometimes it's Durability, or it's Malleability, or something else. Look at what they say the most important stat is, and then look at your material. An piece of Ore with 918 Malleability and Overall Quality but only 126 Durability isn't a good resource to use on a schematic which states Durability is the most important stat.
Because ore is such a chore to get, I generally use my crappiest ore (based on stats required on the spec, and stats of the materials, as mentioned previously) on the structure modules, etc. and end up with very so-so quality pieces. However, I through some badass ore and iron into the actual house construction, and I end up with decent quality houses (even with my token point of experimentation and novice skills).
As someone else pointed out, the crafting tool may have an effect on things. I have as a structure crafting tool that I believe (due to some sweet vein of copper on another planet) experimented up to about a 92% effectivity rating. I have a similar general crafting tool, which was used to make a similar quality personal structure crafting station, at which my houses are made, within the quaint confines of my bungalow, on a plateau overlooking the beautiful mountains of Naboo, amidst the pleasant sound of 9 harvesters gathering mostly ore and a little steel.
I still cross my fingers whenever I assemble a house, and ask a friend or two to do the same. But I haven't failed it yet. If you want cold hard facts, feel free to log into Lowca, and meet me in Moena in southeast Naboo, and I'll gladly take a half a million ore off of you (and some amount of steel) and perform all kinds of tests with all qualities of equipment. Hell, when that's all done, I'll even build you a guild hall.
I'm a novice architect and I've had this problem even using the Best resources I could find and a crafting tool with Effectiveness of 85% when I made it.
I agree, the Warrior classes should have something similar added. I thought the "being struck dead by lightning" was an excellent idea. Not to mean very humorous. Imagine this... Your walking down the hill to the starport in Kor Valla, you see this guy with his rifle coming toward you... BLAM! A blinding flash. When your vision clears, there's his smoking corpse.
I still have yet to see any proof that quality matters on failures.. It has nothing to do with it. The stats listed for crafting are usually just the unit toughness and that affects that product and not how it was produced.
Crafting machine will help on this. The quality of the resources don't matter, unless someone shows me an official site where a dev said this becuase it doesn't say that in the game anywhere.
