I just recently made master architect, and I have some questions for you veterans.
1) How do you get so many resources, and good ones at that. I've thought of lot swapping with people on other servers, and then taking like an entire day just to find a good quality resource to harvest, but that's all I can think of.
2) Is it really worth all that money to become a 12pt architect, or should I just stay as a 10pt?
3) Atm I have a small house, should I upgrade to a large or medium house when I'm ready to stock and set up my vendors?
4) How many structure factories, and how many equipment factories should I have placed to build things quickly and efficiently?
5) Is it worth it for me to buy a recycler?
Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated.

1. Takes time if your doing your own harvesting.
2. If you want to craft harvestors and stations I would say yes, if just deeds and furniture, no.
3. personal prefernce
4. I use only 1 to conserve lot space, I am thinking of doing lot trades with other servers, but I have not asked. Yet, I guess it depends upon how many lots you want to use.
5. You know I am old fashinoned, I never even thought of getting a recycler, so I would say its personal prefernce.
Your play style will dictate the answers to most of your questions.

Are you on Corbantis? No? Ok, then I'll give honest answers instead of lies to quash the competition...
1. I run 7 BER 12-13 harvs, usually acting as ore wh0res, and buy a little when I need to. Usually keeps me supplied...
2. A 10pt, with besbin port, in a reasearch city, can hit the max BER on harvs. I've heard that to hit max ber and hopper size is another matter. I live as a 10pt, but it takes a few trimes to get BER13 harvs, I'm slowly getting attachments and whatnots for the boost, ~8 months after hittong Master Archy...
3. Mech. Whatever. I've seen all different ways.
But I find the large houses inconvenient to shop in, that whole stairs thing.
4. My lot usage is: 1 medium house, one structure factory, the rest harvs. Currently no lot trades, lot swaps, etc. That one factory is sometimes a pinch - but tearing down a harvestor is a bigger pinch. I really need an alt! (I'm in a guild with a shítload of crafters, there's limited spare lots...) But most weeks one is enough for me. I usually buy my power conditioners, electronics mods...
Um, yeah, that's nice and vague! If you're just getting started, I wouldn't worry about putting down many factories, not until you're more established. I know some people run several vendors, have several factories going full blast all the time, that's not me and I want to do other things in the game, to the point where I've sometimes sent people elsewhere because I don't want to be overly beholden to crafting.
5. Don't have one. Threw out a lot of 100u chuncks of hide this morn. So what? I gather 50k easy in a guild hunt. I think about getting one every so often, somehow never have...

1. use websites like www.swgcraft.com and www.swg-resources.com to find the good stuff without having to spend all day trying to find out what is good. Surveying line maxed out is usally a must. 40-80 statics almost required for a well stocked vendor. I would recommend even harvesting the stuff people are paying 5-10cpu for on your server and buying the cheap 1-2cpu ore you need for architect (note if everyone does this ore wouldnt be 1-2 cpu as it would be in as high demand as the good stuff)
2. not really necessary for architect or artisan, helpful butyou can do without.
3. I prefer a guild hall myself.
4. 4 perm structure factories working on walls or modules with 4 more on stand by for large orders. 0-2 equipment factories.
5. You can do without a recycler. Atleast I do.
2) i am a 12pt Architect , but its not really needful , only to enlarge the harvesters hopper
3) your decission
4)got 4 myself , and 2 others from a friend if i need them
5) same like 3
1) (22) BER13 Mineral Harvesters and (1) BER13 Gas Processor. I keep them static and I can usually hit a high spot of metal or ore all the time. I buy about 1 mil units of ore or more every week on top of what harvest.
2) I'm 12pt and eh... it's a nice title and I can hit some good hoppers but other than that it is not needed.
3) I use a merchant tent and 2 small houses. Merchant tent for vendors, 1 small house for crafting and 1 small house to store everything else (including a storage vendor).
4) 3 structure (structure and wall mods 90% of the time), 1 equipment, 1 food, 1 wearable
5) Worth it... prolly not. I have the Metal, Ore, and Chem recyclers.I'd say that if ANY profession would have an awesome use for a Metal or Ore recycler, architect would be it. I have virtually 0 waste and no frustration when I am a little short making more mods. If you can assemble one, do it but I don't think many peoplecan justify paying 4 Mil (ish) each for them.

1) First it takes more than an entire day to STAY stocked in resources. It's an ongoing process as resources randomly shift. Remember, this game is a social environment. Work out personal deals for resources, building lots, ect that are mutually beneficial. There are a few base rules of thumb about architect resources though. First and foremost, stay ontop of the Fermionic Ore deposits. This you'll find to be your lifeline in this trade. As far as mettal goes, concentrate mostly on Duralloy Steel and Kammris Iron. While you will be told that Wall Modules are your primary concern (and this is true), do not let this detract from maintaining a good stock of Generator Turbines.
2) No. Get 14.9 rated crafting tools, a 44 rated crafting station, locate in a research city, and this is all you will need.
3) I agree this is mostly personal preference. However a guild hall does offer much more potential for a well setup shop.
4) ATM I am running 4 structure factories and 1 equipment factory. I am planning on upping the number of structure factories to 6. The 1 equipment factory has been more than able to keep up with it's demands.
5) Only the Ore and Metal versions. But I would recommend attempting to make it yourself, as they are standardly WAY overpriced for their actual value of usefullness.

What's the iron for? I manage to not bother mining it, the fewer resource type I need to bother with the better...
If you use steel + iron then you've got 2 sources and it is easier to maintain a stock of good material. But you have to manage more resources.
If you use just steel then you have to manage fewer resources. But you might run out of good stuff easier and you would miss the benefit of any good iron spawns.
EIther way works, just a matter of preference really.
Personally I just use steel cause it simplifies things and I've got plenty of steel.
But when I first started, I didn't have a good stockpile of steel and good iron was a lot easier to come by.
Umiio
A 10 point architect can make BER 13 harvs no problem, even without city specialization or foods.
You WILL need quality resources however, and make sure that the Ore Mining Units you construct are BER 6.
I make BER 13s and have 2 spare exp points to toss into the hopper (which no one really seems to care about anyway)
