Thread: Crafted faction turrets

I remember during beta there were some schematics for turret parts, id like to see WS's being able to make these again. Anyone else?

Try the architect forum. They'd be pretty pissed if weaponsmiths got to make turrets.

Why would they, and if thats the case, let archs craft the tower 'structure', with ws's providing the gun turret.

I started a thread on the ws forum about this and I got a reply saying archs would be pissed? CAnt see why but if thats the case, how about archs making the turret 'structure', with the weapon parts made by ws's.


I just remember having some turrets schematics from when i was a ws in beta.

That might be acceptable. But let's face it, architects are far more in need of renewable income source than weaponsmiths. When's the last time you saw a Krayt Enhanced Harvester sell for 5M credits?

Or when did you last see architects making weapons? If they ever become craftable, they need parts from ws's

Architects have been begging for a year to build faction structures. Armorers should make faction armor. Weaponsmiths should get faction only weapons.


Don't bogart what little the architects ask for.

Actually, ws's had schematics for turret parts during beta, and it makes sense that they do again. It also makes sense that architects build the structural element. And if they get to craft faction bases too, then alls good

It would make no sense for architects to be able to produce heavily armored turrets with huge guns without requiring armor/weapon components.


Not that it'd really make any difference before the GCW fixes, because turrets and bases are pretty useless with the current state of the game, and they'd probably have enormous resource requirements so no one would bother making them when they know they'll all be killed by a solo swordsman within a day.

Besides, what's the point, just buy them with fp's. Weaponsmiths have enough to do.
If you are struggling fnding things to do, make a full batch of mines for your vendor or do a run of Rocket launchers or something.


I dont want to be messing around making damn turrets when they are allready available quite easily.

I'm dropping architect soon, so I have no personal agenda here. But here's what would happen if turrets were made by architects and required a part from weaponsmiths:


1) Architect requests that a weaponsmith build them the cannon for a turret


2) The weaponsmith charges the architect weaponsmith level prices for the cannon, something along the lines of 10K credits for 200 units of raw material.


3) The architect spends 20K on ore and cheap aluminum to build the rest of the turret


4) Nobody will pay more than 30K because they feel turrets should be free, since they'll probably have to spend faction points to place them, why should they pay more than the cost of raw materials for the turret.


5) The architect barely breaks even on every turret.



People hate architects for some reason. They refuse to pay -and even call architects nasty names - if they try to sell their ware for more than a couple measly credits per unit for something an architect builds. All the while they gleefully throw millions of credits into the pockets of weaponsmiths.


As far as the uselessness of turrets, by the time they get around to making them player built the combat balance will be on us.
