Thread: Success of selling Architect components?

I was curious if there is a healthy market for selling architect components such as structure modules, walls, etc.? Or do most architects manufacture their own components before final assembly of their product?

Thanks.

Most architects will just make their own parts. Its just easier to do it yourself for most components.

Wall crates might sell OK if they are cheap.

i see you arent on Bria... I would love to buy wall modules off of somebody. I try to find rookie archis and buy some wall off of them, but I don't usually hear from them after the first time =(

I even let them set thier own price!

There are many architects that are willing to pay for someone to make their walls and some other components. It saves time and works out econonically.

One thing an architect did for me when I started was to pay me to make his walls. i grinded them for xp and he paid me like 7k per wall. I really thank this guy.

Yes people will buy walls from novices. Thats a little different, people do that to help out the new people.

The OP was from a master architect asking about a 'healthy market' for components. I just don't see much demand for components in general. So I don't think there is much of a big market for components.

No, there aren't many architects in my opinion.

I believe that sort of apprenticing doesn't happen anymore. I don't really see the point of providing resources and paying for the resulting walls.

I had great success with selling architect components and grossed a little over 150 million . I also had 150 static harvesters to supply me since demand was so high. If you want my price per component, I will be glad to share.

With the game going through so much change currently, I am not sure if the market is still good. I sold these from July-October of last year.

I think the hybrid components may sell quicker, ie Power Core Units. This would be a convienience factor for the buying architect.

I have to agree that most architects do not buy subcomponents these days. However, I think there is an untapped market if you advertise a vendor with decent priced generators, walls, and power core units.

I would love to find a vendor somewhere with a 1000 or so generators...I can never make enough of those damn things.

To avoid any confusion, I just made master architect. However, I have plenty of money to spend and invest in the business. I was just thinking through all the possible revenue streams and noticed that there were few vendors selling architect supplies, so I wanted to come to the forum to obtain everyone's view on the matter.

I just wanted to determine the right path to go before I dump a bunch of credits to build up my inventory. I realize that most individuals in the architect profession enjoy building their own stuff, so buying alot of the components from someone else defeats the whole purpose of being an architect in the first place. But you never know, there might be architects out there that are tired of making the factory runs and they wouldn't mind buying components if they were price appropriately.

Take care.
