Thread: Ok, more on Small House'ing prices. Plz read.
Ok, what's up with the pricing of small houses?
First of all - Those Arcitechts selling for less than 15k is just plain STUPID. Why? Well let me explain.
A DH17 Pistol sell for around 6-8k. in total 132 Resources. *5 = 660. 6000-660 = 5340!
The profit for a weaponsmith making a high-quality gun like the DH17 Pistol is a whopping 5340 credits!!
So, let's check on the small houses.
3388 resources in total. * 5 = 16940! You have to price it 16940 to 'break even' !
If you people buying/making those low-prices houses see a problem here, then, well, you really need to seek counceling. ![]()
Yeah, I know it's all about the markets DEMAND who sets most prices - but ANY small houses for under 15-16k is just hurting us Arc who doesnt have a huge PA in our back with 50 harvesters!
Finally, I would like to see the prices of GUNS lowered. Prices out there now are really 50-60% too high!
(Check out my calculations)
Some of us building houses are not building them for money. And nothing you say will change that.
Houses aredime a dozen now.
My advice build weapons or armor, I see Laser rifles going for 25k-30k each
If you're not building them for money, just delete them and start over!
Stop flooding the market with houses for 10k! .. Players think that they're worth that little - even though it SHOULD be at 20k!
There's always some guy who thinks he can change what other people charge by insulting them.
Is this an intelligent position for someone to take?
You be the judge.
Grisvel,
I didn't say anything that was meant insulting.
However - you have to use some POWER in your threads if you want some feedback... ![]()
Wonderful, when you can start moving my deeds for whatever price you deem in your "wisdom" to be correct, I'll start selling them at that price. Until then, I will sell them for whatever people are willing to pay me. If you want to stand around with 8 deeds in your inventory and no buyers, that's your problem.
I don't have a giant PA helping me with resources, yet I seem to be doing just fine. Don't blame me if you can't manage your resources effectively.
Honestly, I'm getting a little sick of all this whining. Oh my, someone can sell a product cheaper than you? That's just not fair! All products should be the exact same price and quality from every merchant, that would solve the problem, I guess, according to you. You're advocating near communism, should I share my profits with all the other Architects too, just to make sure it's "fair" for everyone?
nope I will not delete them and currently I give them away from around 5-8k
enjoy the price war. Find a new job ! ![]()
I have alot of customers willing to pay the FAIR price. Maybe customer support (or the lack of it) is the difference between some of us? My houses are a little bit more expensive because I help pp furniture, help them with a choice of house, etc.
Sure - Go ahead with your 10-5k prices. But I want (NEED) more moneyfor my houses. ![]()
Thats good now your thinking outside the box.
My friend makes a killing off houses, he get 20-30k a small house. Its more than just a empty shell.
I would give you a few extra pointers, butmy friend selling houseswould kill me.
Trust me you'll make your money.
Well, I don't have any problems. A lot of the people who have bought homes from me have gotten furniture and/or crafting stations as well, and sometimes I give them for FREE! GASP!
This is what is called a "loss leader." For those of you with any business knowledge whatsoever, that means selling a product at a loss to get the customer "in the store". In my case, I helped some friends out by outfitting their house with some extra items. They like it, I enjoy it, and I get XP to boot. And, they give me referrals.
Yesterday morning I spent the first half hour of my day answering emails from people who'd like to buy from me. If you can get 20K, good for you. You're rich. Very proud of you. I can't get that, tried, and nobody would buy them.
I tell you all what. Any of you who have a problem with me selling them for 10K, feel free to contact me on Bria. I'll gladly sell them to you for 10K and you can turn around and sell them for 20K. We'll see what kind of customer loyalty you get when they find out they could have bought it for half as much from me. Meanwhile, I'll be getting the experience and learning my craft, it's my dream to be a Master, primarily for roleplaying reasons.
Let me make something perfectly clear. A hamburger at TGI Fridays will run you $6, and a hamburger at Burger King will run you $1. Are they different? Sure, a little but basically they're both hamburgers. Does this mean that Burger King is cheating? No. Are they selling it at a loss? I highly doubt it.
I realize nobody LIKES competition, but you can't expect everyone to sell a house at 20K because that's the only way YOU can make it profitable.
OH, and one last thing... FAIR price?
Who are you to decide what's fair? Did you wake up one morning with this revelation? "I know! Resources are worth exactly 4.9765469 per!"
Let's see, these machines harvest for me while I'm not even ONLINE. Then I spend about 12 minutes crafting a house. I sell it for more than it cost me to make. I mean, I play a lot, but let's face it, you can be moderately lazy and still be a successful crafter. It's not exactly hard to put money and power into a harvester, it's about 8 keystrokes total.
Sure, I put a LOT of time and effort to get to this level, but I was paid for that too. I sold items my whole career as an Artisan.
I just don't understand where you get off deciding that the price YOU decide is right, is the right one. This is a free market. If I can live with selling my items at 1% over my cost, that's my right. If this method is flawed, as you say, then you can laugh all the way to the bank when my shop closes because I can't afford the upkeep on it.
