Bah...I mastered Architect because it was a fun profession. Having other people grind it faster doesn't make it any less fun. BesidesI don't even wear the master title...too many /tells for orders.

What does it matter what other people did to get their title?

The people around me - customers, suppliers, friends - form an opinion of *me* based on how I interact with them and whatever qualities (service, price, availability, etc) that they are looking for in an architect. They don't care if I saved up 700,000 units of metal and ground out Master overnight or hand-sampled it all, in the snow, up the hill both ways, barefoot.

And although the "Master" title gets me some of my initial contacts, it is *my* actions that retain those customers and build new ones through referrals - not the title.

I'm not bothered by the holo crafters at all. They have their own goals, and I have no problem with them having those goals and pursuing them.Frankly since I run a "high-touch" service-oriented business, the people who buy for the lowest price from the grinders aren't people who would have ended up being my customers in the long run anyway.

Again - are *you* proud of how you earned your title and - more importantly - with how you conduct yourself as a Master Architect? If so, then that's all that counts. If not, then no amount of external changes will alter your view of yourself.

First they introduced the Holocrons .. now they introduced the statues

Everyone out there making master Architect in 3 hours grinding statues. This is insane.

I cant be proud anymore displaying my master title.

know exactly what you mean. I spent 2 months working my way up to Master Architect; it was something I was proud of. Now I hear those who are grinding/ macroing to be Masters is dam insulting. The fact that some have the never to ask the quickest way to do it and say they’ll drop the second they hit master and post how quickly one has done it, just show to the point how much of a mockery. This mockery just shows howworthlessthe Title of Master Architect has become. I think I have more respect now for those who archive Master Merchant, but there even are ways to grind throw that as well. I think in the end the only Profession that will be worthy of any respect that their titles are truly earned, will be Politicians.

I can't complain. I was a Master Architect within a week of the launch. Back then you could plant a ton of personal harvesters and not worry about putting credits or power into them. So you could generate 150k ore/day and a lot of metal very easily and without cost (so glad they fixed this).. Then we just grinded structural modules and wall modules to become master. I think the xp per box was a lot lower than it is now, too.

So yeah, it's cyclic. Sometimes it's harder, sometimes things come along that make it easy. Welcome to life.

I am NOT complaining about others grinding up fater then I did. You are wrong there. I could care less how other people do it. I did it my way, It took me longer, but I had the most fun I could have with it.

However what I care about is the profession, where the profession is going and how the one-click profession we are becoming will affect my gameplay and every other Architects who still enjoy the profession.

I have no problem with the Hologrinders, they do what they have to do to have their fun in the game. However I believe that the whole idea was just wrong.

I dont have a problem with the players, trying to get faster where they are dertimined to go.

BUT I am criticizing the developers, implementing changes without even giving it a thought and not testingof how this changes will affect gameplay. In a game that is designed to take some effort to 'learn' an elite profession (even though i believe that this specific design they use is flawed, tedius and nothing to do with effort), where do you think an effortless elite profession will lead?

Doesnt the future of your profession interest you? And Arent these forums the carriers of discussions concerning bugs, problems and improvementof the game?

You are absolutely correct and thank you for pointing this out to everyone. For the rest of you, determining your self-worth based on what other people do is idiotic.

this isa major problem.....

i think it would already have been dealt with and fixed if it where weaponsmith or aromr smiths getting master in an hour...or god forbid it was combat.....if someone could get commando in an hour or 2 it would have been hotfixed right after the patch

i dont need 400 more archtects running around flooding the markets with dirt cheap products....or 400 more architects running the price of ore and otehr materials up....

hopefully most of these people will give it up after the master it....

then again i feel real screwed over....thinking about how many structure modules and crafting stations i had to crank out by hand...

i really hate the holocrons and this entire profession approach to jedi

Doesn't bother me much. It's not like the holo hunters are gonna stay master architects, and the increased demand for grinding materials makes mining a worthy profession. I do wish I had known about the statues when I was grinding through MA though. Well, at least I had the wall mods when I was done.
