Thread: DVNCE: Factory Bug Anyone else seeing this

Lately, I've had resources disappearing from my factories during production runs. For instance, I'll load up all the materials that I need for 100 walls (metal, ore and Modules) and let it run. The factory has ample power and maintenance. When I get back I will have between 97 and 99 items crafted. Checking the input hopper will show that at least one of the resources (never components as far as I've noticed) is gone but there is a correct amount of the other resource(s) there. I just finished a 1000 piece Generator Turbine run and got 998 items. The only resource left was 200 units of Reactive Gas.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is there something I can do to correct this?

Thanks.

I've had this happen to me a few times in the last 2-3 months. Like what happened to you, the resources will run out, but not the components. It has happened most often with structural modules, but that is what I have been manufacturing the most. I have no idea what causes it, just a funny little anomaly.

I honestly don't pay enough attention to notice if it was happening.

Yeah, the reason I notice i is that I carefully plan out my resources fo ra production run and put in just enough. When the run stops short and the resources aren't balanced anymore, there's something wrong. Not sure how large of a run is needed to produce this. I haven't noticed it on short runs (such as less than ten items).

Ditto, had the same problem a few times, thought it was me just mis calculating. I know it also happens in theother factories as well as structure.

I sometimes keep extra items and components in my structure factories and I have noticed that I lose resources sometimes when I stop a factory in the middle of a run to get something out of my factory and then start it back up again. Also, I have noticed this in my factory that I have dedicated for wall modules. I'll put all the ore and metal I need in the hopper for a full run of 1000 walls and I will add a couple hundred structure modules at a time as my other factories pump them out. When I get down to the last couple hundred walls for the schematic, I always notice the ore and metal are a couple hundred or thousand units short.

I put enough wall units in to build12 heavy minerals and it made 4 and ran out of walls. So here is an instance of components going poof.

Happened to me again last night. Had everything all st for a run of 700 walls (double checked my counting to be absolutely sure). At the end of the run I had 699 walls and the only thing in my input hopper was a stack of 10 Structural Modules. It ate my ore and steel.

we had this problem big a while back .. Most common way to reproduce it is to stop your factory run when the factory is almost done producing an item..

To get this fixed we need to find a way to reproduce it when the factory does not get stopped mid production..

I don't stop factories in mid-run, I don't run out of power or anything, mine still does this...

meh, I don't know =P

I can confirm that it has happened several times during uninterrupted factory runs. I'll admit that I have seen this when I stop my run before it has finished. That I chalk up to my fault. However, it also happens frequently to me when I don't stop it mid-run.

It happens frequently enough that I'd be glad to set up a run and a time. Seems to happen most often with Generator Turbines, Walls, and Harvesters/Factories. I don't recall seeing it on Structural Modules but I could just be forgetting.

well reproduce it .. sumbit a bug report.. and report here Server.. Waypoint of factory and roughly the time frame that the factory ran and Ill pass it along.. ( if more than one person can do this it would be great )
