I once thought about this. ( not sure if anyone said this before so dont bite my head of lol )I figured, instead of new house styles, maybe architects should be able to "design" homes.

Just brain storming:

You start with a base of small, med, or larg, then you sellect where to set up the walls, the doors, rooms, stairs, and balconys. That way not every one will have the same exact house.

This would allow for more proper shops and other houses that can be used for clubs, parties, dances, or what have you.

Im not sure if the devs would ever code of such a system but its just an idea

Not sure you could go down the Sims path of home design, but you should have many variables in the construction process that would result in a differently styled house, such as interior features and wall/floor color. For instance, one thing they should have is a plantation house that takes up 8 lots and is a home halfway b/n a medium and large that has a grounds on it with walls, gardens, fountains, etc. Would be pretty damn neat, looking nice, etc.

Further, I'm for more furniture and other interior decirating items that don't currently exist...mainly rugs and tapestrys. Rugs would be easy to do and would really help the tailor profession. I'm a relative newbie to the game, but not to MMORPG's and I am quite happy with what we have, although more is ALWAYS better and is easily done by the developers should they pursue doing it.

Frankly, they shoudl release one item per crafting profession per week...some weeks its good, some weeks its stupid. But its only avilable that week (or at least the schematic is). Then over time, iut would become rarer and rarer. Such as rug, tapestry, bowls, jackets, hats, etc. Would be pretty neat.

I think designing your own house would be hard, but really cool, and would be a very very long time before we see that. I am taking up architect in a couple weeks and I would love to see more styles of houses. I would love to see a 3 or 4 story house, or a one story house with 3 basement levels. Also storage limits increased, but everyone already wants that. It would be nice to get accual storage buildings like a wherehouse that holds maybe 500-1000 items.

thats why i suggested pre-defined templates...so they would just do maybe 20 layouts and we would pick from a predifined group..

may 1 choice for - 1 room style....4 for two room styles etc....

some of the current lay outs are AWFUL and terrible house designs...

how many times have you gotten lost in some of the large houses

I think it would aslo be nice for decorators to actualy place a plant on your balcony, or have a chair on your front porch. I know that when your on your balcony your oursidfe so even the balcony isnt private but city owned.

Maybe they shoudl implement something that if you place a house a sort of zone will be created on wich you have so-called zoning right so you can put up stuff like chairs and plants, then if it requires maintenance it will be take from the house maintenance.

Just an idea, or maybe a hopeless though.. who knows.

I would like to see player city only housing types. More vertical smaller footprint. Let us increase player density with our capped city radius. Also make it feel more like a city, give us row houses, brownstones......

Dummy buildings would also be good. Just empty buildings to create the atmosphere of a larger town.

Off-topic a bit, but what about pavement? It might be time to think about being able to craft slabs of pavement that can be laid in player cities to get rid of the weed factor. It would look so much more like...well, a city.

I dunno if this has been posted before in other threads, but another type of "house" might take the form of some type of warehouse. I'm sure all of us have many secondary houses that we use for storage. Wouldn't it be nice to have a simple 4 wall structure that you can use just for storage? I've been asked by many people if such structures can be made.

I am sure I am not alone in saying the generic/corellian house styles are rather unattractive. The only thing keeping my guild's city on Talus from being truly beautiful are these bland houses we have to choose from

Any chance we can get a bone thrown our way in an upcoming publish?

Imaka, as a fellow Gorathian I plead for your help

I agree that the corellina and generic houses tend to get a bit clishé when you see 100 of the same houses in one row, I also like to see more difrent types and tyles of houses. our city is Naboo based, but we do NOT want those ugly small round houses in our city thus making our city only have twe square small and medium houses as housing for the citizens.

I realy like to see a change in that soon, hopefully very soon.

The thing about the generics is that they seem physically smaller too, compared to the amazing large Naboo (my fave) or the Tatooine large.

Hopefully Imaka can get some dev love for this. For one it would spice up player cities some, and secondly, think of all the happy architechts that will make money selling houses again

i dont think our houses look very star warzy anyway..but thats another thread...

i would like to be able to make and sell the 3 level Tat house you see in cheap town in every Tat city....

we also need to be able to customize interiors...

I think that each style should have several templates to choose from...allowing us to decided the room layout, textures colors and outside details..

Well, if you guys all that I would create an architecht just to play with that

Pretty cool ideas there. When you think of the new art assets they have put into the game for player cities it does not seem like it would be terrible to add new buildings. If anything, it could be a good content bone to throw at us all.
