Tons of NPC models/styles of housing already available in the game, we just need to be able to build them.

Very true, and even more true for furniture and plants.

Indeed, though it seems like we have hope with furniture at least (even if it's in the form of decaying lamps and candles! LOL)

I just bought a Lg Gen(2) this week (now that I can decorate it proper!) and I'm all for the multi-template house crafting. My Arch xp extends only to Interior Designer, but there is just so much space wasted in the house! There's like two tiny 5' halls that should be left open to make bigger rooms.
Maybe they should have RL Archs design the house art. LOL

Yes! Those Corellian and Generic houses are so cold, sterile and soul-less. It's like living in a box made of sheet metal and concrete. There is nothing cozy or homey about them.
Here's what I want:
1. More housing styles to choose from
2. Choices of colors/textures for the walls and floors
3. More choices of floorplans
4. Adjustable lighting (I know there are lamps now, but I want LESS light in those Corellian houses. If you add just one lamp, you are blinded by the glaring grey walls.)

I fully support this thread, as with all races in this game, there are very little in the way of selecting a truly unique home. I feel strongly that there should be multiple avenues within the house design that would allow an architecht to fully customize a home to the desired plan of the customer. Example: Templates that woulld be based on floors. You would simply decide on a room module and drag it onto the floor you want it in with smalls, mediums, larges, manors, and estates as classifications. You could say have so much room for so many modules per floor thus allowing more custom layouts of homes. I would like to see open courtyards, customizable balconies where you could lay furniture or decorations within the boundaries of your homes footprint. I would alos like to see the home more funstional, with closets, storage facilities, kitchens, and refreshers. This would alow some more interation with your homes enviornment. Windows would be huge addition. I would even like to see more subteranean homes alla Skywalker ranch. All of these would make someone drool. i cannot help less shed a tear when i see all those wasted buildings in the primary cities. Perhaps all of those buildings could have renatble spaces within them for stores, and apartments. Further it would be nice to see architechts able to craft those "filler Buildings" to add life to Player Built Cities. Over all there should be more variety with the homes, as well as the other player owned buildings: Canitina's, Med Centers, Stores. These too should be available in small medium and large flavors. Merchent tent for small, A more permanent store for medium, all the way to a large store that has vairous decorations all ready in place. Perhaps flavored to the proffesion, Weapons Shop available to master weaponsmith, and so forth that would already have on the wall decorations of all the weapons available. Anyway you all get my point, I would like to see all of this done. Lastly I would like to be able to lock certain doors in my home. thanks for letting me rant.

I fully support this idea, but the only problem I see is this... Unless the buyer knows EXACTLY what they are buying, they won't buy a customized house. Much like the way Droids and Deeds are now, if you don't know what you are buying, you won't buy it. We need to have a small pic of the layout as well. Somehow... Or at least a guide for those wanting something different. As of right now, there isn't a way to show off that cool new housing design without someone buying it and placing it. Give the customer the incentive to buy with pics when the menu pops up at the bazaar somewhere under details is the ticket to success. Trying to remember which housing style is what is confusing and I hate to Alt-Tab out to check a site to verify. LOL.
