Thread: BER14's are now possible

I've just made a couple, using BER7 omu's and of coarse a new ent buff. The steel I was using for the omu's was 981 or overin HR/SR/UT. I made one using the good steel in the final combo and one using the good steel and some almost as good iron. However when I tried one without the good stuff in the final combo it only came out 13. More experimentation is necessary before I call that tho and it's to late, over here in Oz, to keep playing tonight.

On the downside fusions havn't changed from what I can see.

I haven't tried any other types of harvesters yet but I did make a BER5 light omu so I'm guessing BER11 mediums are on the cards to.

Have fun playing with the new buffs and selling truckloads of new harvesters.

I just loaded my first schematic runs of BER14s! woohoo

err...any suggestions as to pricing? Typical prices on Chilastra run about 100-120k for a BER13.

Just make sure you slap a decent premium on them so that the 13's will still be bought. remember we won't be always making BER14, and we could cut our own throats if we price the 14's to low.

My attitude on pricing for these things... Start high. If you get undercut or nobody buys then you can always drop the price later. Watch the competition. If 3 other guys sell at 150k then selling at 200k won't work well. If nobody else has any then you could probably fetch 250k or more.

Of course theres N squaredopinions on pricing for every N architects.

One key factor in the pricing on these is likely to be how recently a good steel has spawned. If a server hasn't had a >980 steel for 17 months then the steel will be very rare. That means much rarer BER14's and the prices will be higher due to scarcity. But if a uber duralloy spawned a month ago then it will be relatively common still and the BER14s will also be more common. If people have to use 30k resource deeds to make these then the costs will be easily an extra 100-200k for just the materials.

Thank you very much for the input. I was gauging about a 250k to start so that shall be where I start. I imagine I will have to really work hard in the coming days, but at least I have about 1000 walls already made. whew

Does anyone know if the buff enhances the subcomponents as well as the resources.

If it does then 99% ore mining units made with971+ quality metal/steel will work, with 981+ resources in final build.

So ber7 OMU's still say 99% experimented? Anyone manage 100%?

I did the math ahead of time and should have easily gotten ber15 fusions. I'm depressed. Now I'll only have capped Heavies and Mediums but no power harvesters. Oh well. Fun part gonna be the pricing. People can make back their money in one day w/ regular harvesters, doubling price of these to make them mine for 2days before earning it back isn't that bad. =)

I'm sure it won't increase stats on already made sub components.

I just made one on Shadowfire as well, and was told (on the general Shadowfire forums) that they should be priced as much as a 13 and to drop the price on the 13s. Oh boy, methinks to myself, here we go. *sigh*

I think we'll need some good old fashion price fixing for this!

Price fixing never worked w/ our profession because way too many people were price cutters. No professions had them worse than this one. But w/ the ber14's being so hard to make, perhaps only a handfull of arch's will be able to make them. So search them out and try to work a deal. If everyone sells at identical pricing, no one undercutting to try and up their market share, it should work. If people think they're priced too high, and want to lower to attract more customers, then everyone can lower together.

Above allI like to be a fair and competitive merchant. I don't see this as a chance to start price gouging like oil companies are doing, but rather a chance for us to get a fair price for our product. Even at 2-3times the normal selling price, they'll make back their money in a couple days anyways from mining, and it'll never decay. They shouldn't complain!! =)
