As of right now, the search so far, my guild hasnt found any. Others said they searched all planets and none. But they might want to hog it all

So SS still has no Laser Rifle, Or T21.

How often does it happen? Just wondering if I should pre-pay all my harvestors for a couple of days...

The trick is KNOWING when a resource "pops" or becomes available, at least within a few hours. If you keep a daily record of the resources on your planet (and others if you're hardcore) you should be able to track with some accuracy at LEAST when a resource is in danger of drying-up.

The current range is 5-8 days on a particular resource, that means a specific resource like Sitawop or something similar, NOT a category like Siliclastic Ore.

So, if you KNOW a resource popped today you could drop 5 days of maintenance money and power into it and almost be guaranteed to squeeze the most out of it.

I am finding it extremely hard to build a decent resource base needed to build a small business. I find a good vein of ore, place my harvesters, and pay my maint and power cost. I go back the next day and the resource has moved, my machines have shut down, and I not have to pay an expensive cost to reclaim my harvester and start my search from scratch. Is there a scheduled time for the resource shift? This really getting expensive for a small business.

The trick is to wait for a new resource to show up. If the resource has been there for a few days it is likely it will shift again very soon. I usually keep a calendar of when certain resources showed up and try to plant harvestors only on the new ones. They usualy stay for about a week if you can catch it when it first appears.

anyone know if all the resources on a planet shift at once, or is it just a small area, or a specific resource type for the whole planet, or say all metal for a planet?

any details really

Different resources shift at different times based on how fast it is harvested on the planet and on the server. For example, a resource may disappear from Tatooine and still be on Naboo based on how much it is harvested on each planet. Also it seems that on Bria the resources shift about every week but I have heard that on one server (dont remember which one) there has only been one shift so far and that was a forced shift by the devs. Once a specific resource is depleted from the server another is loaded to replace it but that may mean that you have to wait for it to deplete on another planet even though it is gone from your planet.

This is the way that I understand it to be and all of this information may not be correct. It should be at least very close to the way things work though. But if someone finds something that is not correct I am sure they will post corrections.
