The other day I was asked a question by a friend

"What does an Architect do? You guys build houses and harvs and that's it. What more is there?"

I sat down and thought about it for a while. We don't just sit on our duffs all day making houses, harvs, furniture and then gripe about pricing, do we? I thought about it for a while and jotted down my thoughts as to what all an Architect does. This is the end result.

- I am an Architect.

- I create structures and furniture and sell them for a fair price.

- I will not engage in unfair price fixing or price gouging.

- I will be honest and truthful with my customers and fellow Architects.

- I will gather resources in a fair and honest fashion, without interfering with the activities of others.

- I will build to the very best of my skill and I will put pride and dedication into my work.

- I will aide and assist any fellow Architects who are in need.

- While I may partake in other activities and professions, I shall adhere to this creed as long as I am an Architect.

- I, am an Architect.

Thank you, Pawlin. As I said, I made this largely to reflect what I feel an Architect is and what what we should expect from ourselves. One can easily blow through our profession in no time, but I felt that these are the qualities which should truly embody our profession and differentiate it from all others.
