I just don't see that he's calling this an exploit. Maybe that's me.

Thunderheart also shot down your resource stack increase proposal. Yet you rightly campaign on. He may not have intended this, but an immense player economy has evolved around it. I think that the existence of the system as is demands that any changes be considered carefully.

Furia, Kavala, Xana, Tarantella (Xana's alt, before NGE), all cancelled.(3 accts total)

You folks crack me up on this. I agree with Furia, btw. I view the people who want this change (which would do great harm to the economy - those who can't see this are a lost cause)as attempting to make most of their fellow gamers suffer. The economy is based on a FREE MARKET model, and to be a viable economy then people need to have easy access to it. By restricting access, folks are trying to control the economy (robber barons). I don't have a problem with people making plays for power, but don't get upset when someone calls you on it.

Do you really believe that the devs intended that Doctors, Combat medics, Smugglers, Rangers, etc spend 24 POINTS for a box vendor??? The merchant class has been broken since launch, and IMO should be eliminated.

They should eliminate the ability for a non-crafter to use a schematic, as that is a bigger exploit in my opinion. How many of you have dropped master artisan, then bought a schematic of MSS for your stations???

As to be able to use a skill/ability without the required profession, you have heard of skill tapes right? By your definition, using a skill tape without the profession is an exploit. That's just BS.

I love the ability to edit when the forums don't co-operate.

Yeah, it'll be a real shame when the map isn't littered with empty vendors. I can see the economy going down the tubes already. *rolls eyes*

Have a seat Chicken Little. Letting people have free vendors just lets people run stores without being dedicated to it. They provide nothing to the economy.

I can honestly say this doesn't apply to me. But just thought I'd share something interesting...not sure if this has happened to anyone else...On my master merchant/musician on Eclipse I was using my spare vendors as decoration in my cantina. In all I had about 10 NPC's. I thought it was kool but had just heard about some dude getting banned for some kind of vendor exploit and deleted them all! lol oh well, Ithought it was funny.

Ouch, Aucob got pwnd! My apologies go out to the folks calling exploit. You are correct, my bad. Thanks for bringing us up to speed Pawlin!

Furia, I gotta agree with Bober, there's not a whole lot of grey area when TH is saying that the devs are "fixing" something that was "never intended". Exploit while you can

Thx for remembering an old Bothan, Cafa! Nope, no Jedi for Aucob I'm much too casual a player for that. I got tired of doing harv runs (this happened right before our mayor set up a static harv field) and started investigating professions involving combat. But I've never forgotten my first love, Architect

F. Other

I am a Master Artisan as well as Master Architect. As such I got a vendor at Artisan/Business III. I've been using this vending machine since I started architect. I actuall moved it once. It took me and a friend two days to do it though (approx 4 1/2 hours online time). I now have over 1500 items on my vendor. Over a thrid are architect items - furniture, harvesters, deeds etc. The rest are artisan and other craft made items. I sell for several friends. I also put drop loot there that someone might want [used weapons, clothes etc] for under 100 credits, most for under 20.Surprisingly a lot of it sells. *IF* they cap the number of items a vendor can sell then I could very well be screwed. I have avoided using my vendor as a 'bag of holding'. My 'offers' and 'stockroom' are constantly checked and kept empty. One thing the Devs cannot nail me on is that. I use my vendor for vending and nothing else. The real pain is having to reoffer everything when the sell time expires .

Lawdy, testify! This is the most annoying thing in the world. Why can we not select multiple items and offer them up for the same price?

It would be nice if we could select multiple items in various places in the GUI. Like if I could select all the deeds in the output hopper from my last factory run and then throw them into my inventory all at once. INstead we have to select one deed and drag / drop... select 2nd deed and drag/drop... select 3rd deed... AAARRRGGG! Biggest oversight in their GUI design as far as I'm concerned. I can't believe they didn't give us the ability to manipulate multiple items.

They have multiselect list controls in place. Email andfriendslist are the ones I can think of offhand. The issue is probably embedded deeply in the system. Every object has a type assigned to it, which in turn has available commands. Multiselect lists have to determine the least common denominator when multiple items of varying types are selected, and that may or may not be an easy thing to do without digging very deeply into the item system, which is the heart of the entire system.

That kind of heart surgery makes any coder nervous. That's how you get patches which fix crates of mines, but which make other weapons uncraftable. I would imagine it could be done, but it's no trivial task.

You're probably right. I think it should have been done from the start. But then I also wouldn't put it past these guys to have an easy way to implement it but just not do it cause they're busy and/or don't see a big need.
