Gotcha. So it's better to have crappy resources on advanced components, than excellent resources on basic components.

Something like that.. read up on caps, I'm in a rush... in a few words: resources may seem to be bad but can be really really good

I went out and found the resources needed for the Advanced Vibro Blade Unit, that being Desh copper and some other one who's name i can't remember, and some Class 3 Solid Petrochem. The 2 copper UT's were around 700, and 300.
The Knuckler I made with the basic components ended up 152 dmg and 2.1 spd. All my experiementation ended in Great Success.
The Knuckler I made with the Advanced components ended up 150 dmg and 2.3 spd! Again, all Great Successes.
I must say that I feel a little misled here Shug.

What server are you on and what resources are you using to be hitting these stats!!!!!!! On radiant using the best of shift resources i can only hit max 147

I don't do drugs, I'm looking at the right items, I'm must admit I am somewhat confused, but I'm not lying.
I must add that I also used +20 dmg vibro motor enhancements in both, so don't get your panties all up in a twist.
The point is, I ended up with a worse product using the advanced components with poor resources than I did using excellent resources and basic components... Is this normal?

What were the stats on the vibro units before you combind them? That might really help in determining what went wrong here.
For Advanced Units, 25-37 is generally considered "good" (25-57 base enhanced). If your numbers are around here, then I'd be interested in seeing what the problem is.

Not about the motors, but i'd recommend looking for better kammris for the actual vibro knuckler...I know on radiant we've had at LEAST 4 different spawns over 990 SR for kammris iron, dunno about your server, but you've probly had better kammris...I honestly haven't seen kammris iron with an SR lower than 900...

Advanced Vibro Blade Unit:
13 units Ojima Platinite Copper UT: 732
25 units Goagiso Desh Copper UT: 327
15 units Class 3 Solid Petrochem UT: N/A
1 High Powered Vibro Motor Enhancement +20 DMG
With those resources, and great successes in experimentation on DMG, I ended up with the following VK:
DMG 150-35
SPD 2.3
HAM 36-52-37
WOUND 36.9%
So worse max damage, worse speed, slightly better HAM, and slightly better Wound. But really, DMG and SPEED are what you are looking for, and I ended up with better stats out of the basic components than out of the advanced components.

I'm just going to chalk this one up to a bad experience. I'm starting to think I may have had some bad experimentation in there or something. I've been doing some more VK's and they're turning out better than the last ones.

I'm not going to go into detail regarding where I got these two carbines, but long story short one is a krayt Laser (76 tissue) that I got a speed slice on and the other is a looted 333 max with a damage slice. Here are the stats:

The looted one has hit up to 6.5k damage on a blacksun henchman (40% resist to energy?) when PuP'd, but when the Krayt is PuP'd it only reaches high 3k's with an occasional low 4k. Please loot at the stats on both while PuP'd and take every aspect (except speed and accuracy as I have +115 speed and +190 accuracy) into account. Then say which you feel is better and why - I am leaning towards dropping my ADK on the one with the DoT but was just wondering what your thoughts are.

#1 the DoT absolutely sucks and is 100% worthless.
#2 the DPS of the crafted one is slightly better because of the higher min damage.....speed means nothing to you.
I would use the ADK on the crafted Laser Carbine and it can always be destroyed when a better one comes along......and if you drop down in Carbine Speed a 2.2 Laser is very nice to have as the Speed Cap for that is below +85 Carbine Speed.
