Playing SWG for 25 hours straight makes one think. It also makes ones head hurt, but that's a given.
During my playtime I've had a bit of an Epiphany. I'm currently Grinding my holos and any other profession I can stomach. And if I can unlock before publish 10, super. If not, maybe that promised "one up" on the new quests will be worth something.
Now I'm trying my hardest to grind my professions out before publish because I want to unlock jedi and the new system sounds fairly evil. If not a better system.
Now I'm not sure if any of you have tried the ol' "Hero of Tattooine" quest, but I have. It was a nightmare, random spawns, oftentimes broken, or half finished by a previous player, hours of searching randomly through the desert hoping to stumble upon a random quest. People had these things half figured out, and a general search pattern for finding these quests.
It sounds kinda similar to what this new jedi system will be like, random quests etc etc. It sounds like a nightmare. I can see it now, the hordes running through the forests of naboo, to search for Jim the hermit informant who can tell you where to find a super Force Sensitive quest object. People fighting to talk to Jim, lest he despawn and forever ruin your life. I remember people doing the Tatooine quest missions in groups.

Imagine that, whol groups of people becoming force sensitive together!
Luke you will be a Jedi like your father before you. Oh and one sec, let's wait for Zapla the twi'lek and goota the rodian, you guys will all be jedi... like erm.. someone's father was I'm sure.
Luke: I found the camp! I have to help a poor woman find her boy Iewa Sidoobas!
Zapla: I found Iewa a few miles back, in the hills. I thought he was a thug. I killed him

Goota: DUDE **edit**!
You get the picture. Now I know that the Dev team have been wonderful about keeping SWG true to the Star Wars universe. (Insert laugh here)
But for some reason, this new Jedi unlocking quest sounds like it's gonna be a nightmare. We're gonna be back to square one, with the theories and craziness. And let's look at missions in the game right now.
Ok class, raise your hand if you want your Force Sensitivity quest to bug out and screw you royally.
Ooh me me! ...... wait huh? I'm scared mommy.
Grinding is a major bummer... no doubt. But this new idea. This sounds like it might be something like visiting Satan on a bad day, because his brand new torture kit was missing the mercy kill tool!
Now I've been thinking... why in Yoda's holy name. Would the Devs have made the Jedi class a primarily power gamer reward? I think I figured it out.
You notice Yoda and Ben talk about Luke and Leia being the last hope.
So granted... the venerable SWG player "Darkjediz Mcpwnu" might not be next in line.
In fact no one is, even though we've now seen that there are practically 50-100 jedi on every server.
None of them are the next hope?
Of course not! Because they are power hungry force monsters.
The way that these people have unlocked, and the fashion in which they play.. it doesn't suggest a Jedi. It suggests a lightsaber wielding force user who is questing for power. Seems to me every Jedi... and I've met some incredibly nice ones, are looking to the dark side of the force!
They may think they serve good... but do they?
Perhaps the two classes are Dark Jedi... and the Blissfully Ignorant Jedi.
Wouldn't *that* look good on the skill tree? hee hee!
Now would you ever see luke running around in composite armor slaughtering wild space boar to improve his sabre technique? No!
Would you see luke requestioning his good friend Fixer to find the phattest loots for his saber? No!
Would you see luke hiding in a hutt to avoid endless streams of Bounty Hunters? No!
That's why Luke is the only hope! Strong in the force is he! Feeling the force flow through him. His defense is his mind, his saber!
Now you may say... But good sir. It is quite impossible for one to effectively survive as a jedi without buffs, 80% composite armor and friend who can provide his saber components.
But I say to you. go slower.
"Is the dark side stronger?"
"No... no. **Quicker** **Easier** **More seductive**"
As it is, every Jedi is filling the part of another Vader. Now granted.... it would be damned *difficult* not impossible to become and stay a jedi knight in any way other than the one that the current jedi now practice.
However, hypothetically it is still possible. A jedi will defend himself, not lash out in attack. So what if you only killed that what attacked you? What if you used a lesser sabre, using only what can be found by *you* As the quest has been known to be by star wars fans for years!
The most difficult quest for the jedi.
Yes so armor let's you fight hordes of creatures at a time, and buffs make you nigh unstoppable. Of course people will do this. It's the most effective way. But is it the way of the jedi? I think not. Now of course the flames will commence and you will all tell me how crazy I am, and that it's not possible any other way. Blah blah blah.
Hey if you want to be the next Vader, or Maul. By all means go ahead. If you want to be the next Skywalker, or Kattarn. Maybe you ought to rethink the way you play this game. Why are you in such a rush anyway? Is there an end to SWG coming I don't know about? He who gets one xp point a day may never finish, but given enough time he will.
You grinded to Jedi, you haven't learned how to stop.
as I said folks. 25 hours of SWG, no sleep. The ramblings of a madman.
