that is quite bizarre, I posted my answer above AFTER this question, the forum thinks I posted it BEFORE. I can assure you I am not usually able to anticipate questions of this type.
So, to repeat my previous answer :
It is either a bug, or you were mistaken, it is most certainly not a knownfeature (although it would be a most pleasant surprise if it were)

Are you sure you bought a BER4? People can call a harvester anything they want. I usually rename the harvesters I craft starting off with the BER. Example BER4 - Deed for Personal Mineral Harvester - But the reality is that even though I name it that it really could be a BER1. Someone who was trying to put one over on you could easily do this. Additionally, in the item description in a bazaar or vendor terminal, you can type anything you like- For example "UBER Deed for BER4 harvester - for more visit my vendor at waypoint blah blah blah"- Either of these two things could be the issue. Or you could have just simply clicked on the wrong item in the bazaar or vendor- if you were browsing and clicking down a list - (I have done that before)
If you really think you bought a BER4 and it somehow degraded to a BER1, I would suggest opening up a ticket with SOE. It is possible that it is a bug, but I have both bought and sold literally hundreds of these harvester deeds (well maybe not that many) and this has never happened me. All that said, I am not saying it did not happen to you, but it does not seem to be a known problem. I searched the SOE knowledge base and did not find anything remotely resembling the problem you describe.
BTW: If you are on the bloodfin server, send me a in-game email and I will be happy to give you a nice BER4 mineral harvester (free of charge) I don't use them since aquiring my BER10 Mineral Mining installations!

I was not asking how it was possible for the BER4 to become a BER1, I was asking how my answers could be before the question.
I am not going to carry on, please just disregard my posts, SOE had screwed up the world clock and things went out of chronological order.

Yes, I looked at the extraction rate before I bought them but after redeeding and planting it new and after I put high maintainence on it I realised it had just an extraction rate of 1. I even redeeded it again to look at it in the inventory and it was BER1 not BER4 as it has been. Can not paying maintainance for a while do that to a harvester? I refilled the money reserve again after this happend to me/the harvester once...

I read the FAQ in this forum after all before I ever bought my first Harvester... and I cannot believe that I made the same mistake 3 times in a row as I didn't buy them all at once

I have not seen this behavior with any of my harvesters
Not sure if anyone asked you this but did you open an support ticket withSOE? If not then u should!

Was the thing on fire when youadded the maint. up? Did you get an email from the system telling you that your harvester was in need of maintenance?
