Thread: The Galactic Civil War: An Architect's Role!

To address your point #2: Who would be crazy enough to take defences on?

It's all a matter of balance. There should be sufficient reward to make taking on an opposite faction player city worthwhile. The defences should be strong enough to make it difficult. I see Commando's as having a role in this. Just like they waste AT-ST's, commando's should have special weapons or abilities to help take out static defences. Now the defenders need to make sure they take out any commando's that are raiding their home.

Let's also not discount the power of mass numbers. A city plans a raid on another city. They gather 80 people together, with the intent of overwhelming the defences. They have 6 commando's, & architects ready to drop forward attack towers for the assault on the city.

It's turns the GCW into a REAL WAR, not just random fights between people. Organized, planned well lead execution of attacks will lead to success. Player cities are the logical avenue for this type of advanced warfare.

I am not an architect, but I cast my vote FOR this. It will likely take a good deal of programming, but I feel this will save the profession better than decay.

People seem to only pay good money for things involved with fighting... pets, weapons, armor, food, spice... Now, structures should be thrown into the mix. Houses will never be seen as important as being able to one-shot or defend against one-shots. Other structures should be able to do either, however.

Now, if we could just get dancers, musicians and tailors into the fighting scheme.

So as far as we know, have any of the devs, or even the Architect correspondent visited this thread? What can we do to bring this to the attention of Sony and the developers? Perhaps if we post a link to this thread in other appropriate forums, that will be enough.

Any ideas?
