hey, new to the whole skill tapes thing. i have 3 +1 polearm speed armor attatchments, and the only thing that makes sense enough to put them on is a ubese under armor shirt. the problem is it only has 2 slots or w/e they called. so my question is, if i put skill tapes on clothing/armor under the same category (polearm speed), does it count towards the total slots? like is it not possible to put 3 seperate +1 polearm speed attatchments on? oh and i heard that if this doesnt work now, u would be able to stack it in the future, anyone know if this is true and if so, when?

Skill attachments do NOT stack in the same article of clothing. If you put two attachments with the same bonus into the same piece of clothing, the higher will overwrite the lower one and you'll still lose the sockets. This is why tapes with high numbers are so very valuable; because you can only fit 4 attachments (at most) into any one article of clothing or piece of armor.

If you have a shirt with only two slots, find an armorsmith who regularly makes Ubese and ask him/her about making you a shirt (and a bandolier) with four sockets.

Everyone and their grandmother knows about the problems with skill attachments and, more than likely, they will never be fixed so don't hold your breath.

Increase your skills by going into clothing or armor slots.

There are different types of SEAs (Skill Enhancing Attachments).

There are AA = Armor attachments and CA = Clothing attachments.

These fit into sockets in armor and clothing.

For instance...if you are an Artisan and want extra experimentation skill you could get a piece of clothing with sockets and put a +10 Artisan experimentation CA in the clothing to give you an extra experimentation point.

Hope this answers some of your question. The rules on what skills appearing on AA, CA actually apply when putting into a socket take more explanation.

Just a short note, I found some of your questions a bit confusing but here goes. You can use a skill tape in every item of clothing that you can wear and they will stack, i.e. you can wear a hat with +5, shirt with +10 and the apron with +5 to get +20 expermintation. You can not add a +2 experimentation toa shirt with a +10 expermination on it already to get a +12. The largest +rating mod will be the one that takes an effect.

Hope that answers your questions.

Quicky question:

What do some of you guys use for skill tapes? I'm just starting to finish the WS grind, and I would like to have some good embedded skills. I'm already a Mon Calamari, but I'm interested in what to use for tapes to better my weapon quality...

Thanks!

Also, I'm wondering what exactly a "12 point" weaponsmith is, can anyone explain this to me?

You get 1 additional experimentation point to usefor each +10 you have in Weapon Experimentation. So at Master WS you are at 100 which = 10 pts.

So you need +10 weapon experimentation in clothing attachments put into clothing items or clothing items with that modifier already for each additional experimentation point. So to be a 12 point smith you need at least +20 in weapon experimentation clothing.

Get a weaponsmith's toolkit. +3 to experimentation, +5 (or +3 can't remember) to assembly, and +5 to repair. A good start on skill increases all in one package.

btw, spend your money on resources first not tapes.

High quality resources are what let you have thehigher stats on your weapons. The tapes are more of a luxury for WSs moreso than say ASs. The extra pts are great for better range, ham, condition and for doing custom weapons such as krayt enhanced.

Also, the specific melee resources are easier to find then ranged so melee is a good way to start while you gather all of the ones for ranged. High ut for subcomponents, high sr for final combines.

For ranged, try to get good oq/cond copper, iron, and steel for final combines and work on getting the resources for advanced blaster power handlers. These are the priority.

12 point smith is someone who has got the extra 2 points from aquiring skill tapes, as you normally only get 10, go for weapons experimentation tapes for the extra 2 points.

I have a polearm counter attack +10 aa with +8 speed, I know the CA is broken and want to get the speed to stick.

I was able to locate a +10 polearm counter attack attachment, however I am hesitant to use this because I think the + has to be greater then the skill you are trying to override, anyone have experience with this?

So in other words, if I drop the +10 PCA in a belt then drop the +10 PCA and +8 speed will the speed stick, or do I need a belt with +11 PCA.
