Thread: TH or GreenMarine can we get a definitive answer on whether Fusions are going to be 'fixed'?

It's silly to have Wind harvs max out higher than Solars (9 to 8). So obviously something will have to be fixed here, it's still a question of whether the Fusions will be fixed.

It also makes no sense to have zero ability to experiment on fusions and solars, and it makes little sense to have Heavy Minerals etc go from 7 to 13 and fusions go from 13 to 14.

IMHO they have to fix the wind/solar situation, I expect them to fix solars and fusions at the same time.

"I can't understandarchitectsexpectinghigher rate energy harvester.

For sellers, harvesters rate must be low.

Lower and lower, more and more harvesters are sold, especially enegy generators.

No doubt, 20+ rate harvesters should be deleted."

It is expected because that is the way it has always been. There has been no note on a radical change by the devs to do something different about these. So we can only assume that this is a bug and it will be fixed. It won't matter if more and more are sold. That will just delay the inevitable. Sooner or later noone will need to buy a harvestor.

Rather than start a new thread...

Has anyone heard anything on this?

Our correspondant hasn't logged on for 10 days.

The "top 5" list that they gave to the Devs in November (? Oct maybe) has NEVER been responded to.

This question about fusion experimentation was sent explicitly to the devs over a month ago and has gotten ZERO response (as far as we know - although maybe the answer to everything is in ArchAngel's mailbox) - not even the courtesy of "we don't know - we're looking at it".

I like the game - a lot. But SOE's record of "user communication" is so abysmal that it feels like it is deliberate. I can't imagine any development organization (and I've been a professional software developer for over 29 years) being this inept.

I just assume that we will never have an answer, unless some patch / hotfix morning we try to build a fusion and it allows it again.

Solars are really the only thing that need fixing. Fusions are about in line with the scaling of personal harvesters to heavies.

Wind Gen - BER9 - You're lucky to find a spot with more than 45% wind and it's never above 500 PE

Solar - BER8 - Same low density and PE as wind, but a lower BER, hardly the medium power extractor

Fusion - BER14 - It's not difficult to find radioactive in densities of 70% or higher, and it can have far higher PE than either of of the other types

Taking the higher densities, higher BER, and higher PE of radioactive into account, the fusion can output 3 times as much power as a wind or solar gen. This is in line with the roughly 3 times output of a BER13 heavy to BER4 personal, and is in line with the power requirements as well.

I find it a little odd that the devs took the time to build new sections on the web site to facilitate communication when they haven't taken the time to just tell us... "this it, live with it," "this is unintended and we're trying to fix it, but don't know for sure when yet," or "we haven't figured it out yet."

Seems to me that maybeit is time to stop talking about all the whiz-bang ways to improve communication, and just get the basics right... answer someone when they ask you a question

Yeah, I agree.

BTW - I loved the play Tartuffe, and the actor playing the title role was so good we all hissed him when he came out forhis bows. He stayed in character, of course.

Fortunately this question features prominently in the new Arch list. It would be nice to get an answer.
