okay a bit irresponsible of me to post some "i would like to see" lists without reading the whole thread but i have to go and collect my son so im in a rush.

I would like to see

more vendor terminals, i.e. the bounty hunter mission terminal would make a very cool stylish terminal vendor as would many of the others the more of these we have the more different styles of shops we can make.

the ability to move objects up and down /sign

more shop signs (preferably much bigger)

my second biggest bugbear (after vendor reliabitlity issues) give us the ability to be a bit more choosy with our staff, let us create npc staff using the character creation screens rather than taking potluck with random npc's this can hardly be a balance issue. i mean i want a buxom saxon serving wench behind the bar of my cantina, i want a crusty old dude selling meds, i want a georgeous blonde selling vehicles not fat twi'leks yknow.

ive said this before and ill say it again......more item space for stock please.

again apologies for a rushed wishlist

cheers

I have to agree about wishing we had more control over the appearance of our vendors. I've spent over 30 mins per vendor hireing and firing (destroying vendor) to get one that I can stand to look at. A fat freckled hairless lady isn't going to show off my pretty dresses to best advantage!

I like the idea of letting us use the character generation screen to create our custom vendors, a wonderful way to give us more control. Perhaps make this an option available to only Master Merchants. If nothing else I'd settle for Image Designers haveing the ability to alter vendors appearance, as they can characters. I'd gladly pay an ID to give my vendors Lipo and Breast Augmentations (tax writeoff as business expenses, hehe)!

Also, I'd love to get actual counters available and display cases, like the trainers have. Even that boring piped in Musak too, lol.

I do not like the new vendor tents. As a tailor I need lots of floor space for clothing displays. The tents are way too small for that. I'd like to see a BUILDING that is the size of a medium or large house, with room for at least 200 items, that is laid out like a mall or store should be. With all the work that has gone into the new player city buildings how hard can it be to make a store structure like this, for architects to be able to create for us? I want my mall to look like a mall. I'd even be happy with awnings that can attach to player houses to make them instantly recognizable as a store, even from a great distance. The signs are nice, but you have to be close to them to see them, I could run right by a store and not even notice it. The tents are at least recognizable from a distance, just too darned small, in my opinion.

This has been suggested before, and I'd LOVE for Image Designers to be able to tweak my vendors, just like Tailors can dress them (indirectly, but you get my point).

Got this from a post on the Flurry boards:

It'd be nice if SWG would add market and training channels. Can't find that specific resource? Ask on the market channel. Need polarms 3? Check the training channel.

Could get out of hand with macros, though, with people spamming their ads.If I were head of SOE, I'd have a moderator on the channel, and only buying messages would be allowed, no selling. Sellers of course could watch the channel, and send tells to people looking for resources.

The idea is sound, but I would like to think that high level merchants like me could have the opportunity to send selling product messages on those types of boards. I think we merchants have deservered that right on such a broken profession.

I did not read the whole thread so maybe someone already post this. If so, very sorry.

Often I found people, playing a merchant to a certain level to place 2 or 3 NPC Vendors and than quit the profession, to free the skill points. The vendors will be in place and fully functional.

I think if someone quits the merchant, his vendors shall disappear or at least shall be useless.

have a nice day

Please add to wish list items:

  1. Another vote for giving Image Designers the ability to Image Design the vendors of Novice Merchants on up. - I have deleted HUNDREDS of vendors in my months of merchanting. Ugh. What a time suck. This option would benefit two needy professions in one fell swoop.

  2. A piece of paper object for placing price lists on the bazaar/vendors - People do it anyway using all kinds of odd objects and it is both junky looking and awkward. This would be useful for those services that do not involve selling items, such as battle-fatigue-healed-in-your-home, wedding planning, interior decorating, Image Design...

  3. Fix the spacing on the bazaar/vendor displays so that the DEFAULT setting allows a nice, big, wide window for the viewing of theitem description - I get so annoyed having to adjust this manually that I just left the game to come add this request to the State of the Profession For clothing you can't see the color if the person included it, for resource containers you can't see the amount, and for just about anything you miss out on either the name of the maker if it's at the end of the description, or the (first few letters) of the item name if it happens to be in the front. Not everyone even knows they can adjust the column widths and we miss out on potential sales.

  4. Add "beauty salon" or "image design studio" or some such to the planetary map's vendor listings. MANY of us are Merchant/Tailor/Image Designers, would be nice to have a price listoption for vendors, since there is nothing for an Image Designer to sell but we always want to list prices and descriptions of modifications available.

  5. Acanned Image Design ad bark would be nice, especially when paired with the ability to put a price list with descriptions on a vendor.

  6. Another vote for merchant furniture - especially pretty glass and marbled display tables large enough to put a vendor behind, and suitable for placing small objects on for display purposes. If there were an additional display shelf inside a rectangular glass display case that would rock

Thank you for reading!

More Wish List ideas:

(I'm guessing some of these probably have been brought up before, but I didn't see them...)

* An "INFO" or "Not for Sale" tag that lets us put informational items (like price lists and custom ordering information)in the vendor in a way that is eye-catching and prevents players from purchasing the item.

* Preserve the Details text when re-stocking an item.

* Ability to "Copy Text" from old Details text(I can copy from text I have just typed in the box, but not from items I've already submitted).

* Attach the Details description to the "receipt" e-mails -- for the buyer this lets them see info they might have glossed over or forgotten. For the seller this gives an opportunity to copy-and-paste the description to a new item, and to spot a type-o or other flaw in what might be a recurring description.

* Ability to move vendors around a room after they are active. Granted, the merchant would need to take care not to shove the vendor through a wall, but as a way to rearrange a shop every so often it would be much easier than plunking down a new vendor and shuffling all the stock over.

* Ability to re-name an existing vendor without replacing it. For example, a starting merchant mightstart with Vendor:Houses and Furniture, but then as they get more vendors want to split up their stock (Vendor: Houses and Vendor: Furniture)without deleting the old vendor. Or they might decide to add a brand name as they get into the merchant groove.

* Ability to give vendor admin rights to others, allowing a merchant to rent his vendor rights to people who might not have vendors. For example, a Smuggler with no artisan skills might like to sell spices on a rented vendor. Another use for this would be to foster partnerships, like allowing an apprentice to sell on your vendor. As with the bazaar, the person listing the item gets the money, e-mails, etc.

* Ability to "ship" goods from a vendor on one planet to a vendor on a different planet, when the merchant expands business. This lets the merchant more easily balance their inventory across multiple planets. (Note that simply being able to retrieve stock from any of your vendors' stockrooms would accomplish this.)

*A true stockroom structure, that uses lots and holds item without the auto-delete of vendor stockrooms. Let this structure be "visible" from any of your vendors' stockrooms so that you can more easily replenish depleted goods while looking right at the vendor who needs a resupply.

So, let me get this straight: To advance my character, I have to give up my current abilities?

I would like to see emails sent to you when items are offered to your vendor.

Get rid of emails when you withdraw a sale (I think I know what I just did).

Thanks for the ides there are some interesting things in here one I want to ask you to expand on:

You are suggesting a physical building that takes up x lots and gives you 75xlots of items and when you go to put things on sale you can actually see the items in the building as if they were in your inventory or backpack? This is what it sounds like to me and I want to know if I understand it.

Add my vote to these

Also...

When offering something up for sale from the stockroom, have the last price it was for sale at appear in the little price window. It would save so much time. We would still have the option of lowering or raising the price of course

Also...in a post some time ago in response to people complaining about no longer being able to use hex codes to color item names... TH mentioned that they were thinking of making this available again but with a nice interface to go along with it. I would LOVE to see this happen, and imagine it would be a Business/Merchant abillity.

Something I've been dying for since launch...

Business bank accounts! I'm in a partnership and it is VERY time consuming going through all the mail and trying to figure out which funds are from vendor sales and which are tips or mission rewards.

A simple perk for us underappreciated merchants. Maybe add it to the master merchant skill and allow the merchant to add employees or partners to the business account. Any vendor sale will deposit the funds into this account instead of the normal bank account.

I also like the idea of leasing a vendor to a non-vendor dropping customer. They can pay maintanance, sell & retrieve items etc... with a percentage of the sales revenue directly deposited into the account of the merchant.

Too much to ask? /emote wishes the dev's would throw us a bone
