While the experimentation went live, it is different than what was on the TC. The hoppers were not nerfed, and the harvesting increased. So it wasn't really a lie.

Ignore the current rates and capacities on TC. They are not going to stay like that and they will not be pushed to live.

The harvester rate and capacity numbers on TC will not be on live and will not remain on TC.

See? Never said anything about experimentation not going live, they just said the numbers wont stay the same.

The part you left out:

This is Harvester specific. No other systems were affected. Note that there will be no change to harvesting once we "undo" this problem, except that you will get some leeway in your experimentation of the harvester's capacity. You won't be able to experiment on the extract rate...mainly because that is game breakingly powerful. Any experimentation you do on the rate right now on TC has no meaning (the result is always the same).

They said that experimentation would go in for harvester's capacity, but that it most definitely would not go in for extraction rates.

According to some test center posts, they are "fixing" the harvesters to remove the newly experimented extraction rates. Now, will this "fix" also cause any existing harvesters to revert to the old storage capacity as well as the old extraction rates like the last "fix" did to the newly built ones? Is this "fix" definitely going live?

This is really why experimentation is hard to work with:

  1. We have to set up the experimentable data on the schematics and make sure its all correct.
  2. We have to write a script that properly weights that data and assigns it properly.
  3. We have to then give those result values meaning in some system.
  4. Then we have to expose that data to the player in a meaningful way.

We aren't really skilled at doing all of that right now, but we are getting better. More systems will get more meaningful and fun experimentation as we go along. (And we'll revamp old ones to be better...)

Why the hell would I care what steps are necessary to do something that should already be in the game anyway? Whining to us about how difficult you've made your game to program and how unskilled you guys are DOES NOT inspire confidence.

I am rapidly coming to the conclusion my $15 bucks could be spent better elsewhere.
