I spend my time negotiating to buy 100k's or more blocks of resources. Others assemble delicate pieces into the perfect laser rifle. I pour tons of raw materials (that strangely, I can carry on my person) into huge blocks and gears and other under appreciated pieces of machinery that make the world operate. How would things work if I had to comb the galaxy looking for rare and desirable resources and then have to get my hands on 500k of it?P>
I have no problems harvesting all the superior quality resources I need. Perhaps if you were mining your own stuff instead of buying it, you'd have a different perspective. I've never seen a long period go by without excellent ores, metals, and chemicals of the sort Architects need. And I've been tracking it *really* closely.
My resource database contains hundreds of entries, and I've never even had to leave Corellia to get high-900 resources in ample quanitites for Architecture. It's simply not an either/or (quantity/quality) situation, despite what you try to suggest.
The Devs caved, for whatever reason, and in so doing are catering to those who will inevitably and relentlessly demand lower standards in every situation.
Architecture will become pretty much a joke. Personally, I'm just going to use the remaining excellent resources I have to build all the structures I'm ever going to need in this game. Then I'm dropping Architecture completely. The stuff lasts forever, so why should I wait for the dead end?
I'll be going into a *real* crafing profession. Master Weaponsmith and Armorsmith looks good to me.
There will obviously always be a bunch of yahoos cranking out structures now. Meanwhile, I'll have something a bit more involved and interesting to do.
yes they were changed. any current harvestors i had up stayed the same, but the rest that were as deeds or that are built now are useless.
personal moisture vaporator - hopper size 2155 / extract rate 1
micro flora farm - hoper size 2177 / extract rate 1
aswell the ones that were left up and didnt change, when pulled and deed reclaimed and replanted they still stayed with the same stats.
Draxia Miz'ri - kettemoor
One reason is that many players have large investments in existing harvesters. Some of these harvesters could be significanly nerfed since there is no way to tell the stats on the resources that were used to make them and no chance for retroactive experimentation. Also, how much do you think that fusion generator cost? If the changes allowed harvesters with existing rates and hoppers to be made and experimentation increased this I'd be all for it. However, I think unexperimented harvesters had substantially lower rates and hopper sizes. I dont think i can be convinced that a heavy harvester, that used to cost me 100k, will now cost significanly more to get the same rate and hopper size, is a good thing.
If it has a spec extraction rate of say 7 then no it should cost 100k, but now we can bump them up to say 14 so those should cost 200k at least.
Don't know if the fix has hit live servers yet, but TC the harvesters are being fixed when they hit deed for... if it is a deed, its fixed... If you re-deed and move it.. its fixed... Say bye-bye to all our pretty higher than norm extractors... it won't be long until those that are running are changed back as well.
Just when it finally meant something to be a master arch. other than just more furniture and guild halls... they took it all away again
I think its time to take a break from architect before I give it up completely
While the experimentation went live, it is different than what was on the TC. The hoppers were not nerfed, and the harvesting increased. So it wasn't really a lie.
Ignore the current rates and capacities on TC. They are not going to stay like that and they will not be pushed to live.
The harvester rate and capcity numbers on TC will not be on live and will not remain on TC.
See? Never said anything about experimentation not going live, they just said the numbers wont stay the same.
