Ok .... This Does not Mean that any progress is happening on my push for us to be able to craft GCW faction items..

But I want to know this..

Please answer Yes or No.. and limit feedback on this ( at this time..please)

Say crafting these were implemented in this fashion..

If we were allowed to craft faction Items.. but you would have to 1) Be alligned to that faction and 2) while crafting this particular item You would get a TEF... (thus attackable)

1) would you accept this form of being able to craft GCW items? No

2) would you enjoy this level of risk of being involved with supplying your faction with Faction equipment ? No

3) would you feel that you were being forced into PvP? No

Ok please answer 1 2 and 3 with a simple yes or no.. If you want to say more..please keep it to one or two sentences and do it after your answer to 1 2 and 3..

again .. this is 100% me looking for this information I dont want to make anyone think I was asked to do this from the devs..

thanks..

If we got a TEF for crafting, How would that put us into the GCW? Seems like a waste of code to me. When I craft I do it out of my house in the middle of my city. Not sure about the rest of you. But not many overts come through my town at any given time. There really is no risk. Therefore, why? Easily countered....clone. Not like I care if my 13 metric tons of ore that I carry around with me decays, or how bout that CDEF pistol I carry around because...well, I dont know why I carry that thing.

Bad Idea. Lets keep the programmers doing things that are productive(OMU's anyone?)

A TEFis combat related. A better solution would be the creation of CF (crafting faction). You must declare yourself to one faction or another as a crafter, where you are given some level 1 faction schematics. As you create more faction items you get CF, you can then trade in that CF for higher Faction Crafter rank (similar to faction rank). The whole system would parallel the combat faction system but points are gained thru creating faction items as well as their use.

Although .. this doesnt address the need for the "other side" to be able to disrupt the supply line.. this is an interesting concept..

Disrupt the supply line? Easy enough, make it so the Faction items can only be crafted inside a faction facility. One that the enemy has the capability to destroy.

1) would you accept this form of being able to craft GCW items? Yes

2) would you enjoy this level of risk of being involved with supplying your faction with Faction equipment ? Sure, but what risk? (see next answer)

3) would you feel that you were being forced into PvP? Not at all. For one reason. If we are not kicked out of our house, where I know personally most of my crafting takes place, then there is absolutely 0 danger to me at all. Under the above mentioned situations, I don't see what the point of applying a tef is. Not that I am against it, It just seems like a lot of work for no effect.

Althogh something would need to be done to limit it a little I don't belive TEF is the answer, I'm sure someone have probably said it before in the thread but if your playing a crafting charater at the time then your there to craft & not to PvP. I for one have two characters & my crafting character is exactly that, a crafting character. Say I was crafting in the back of my shop as I have just sold out& want to put one or two of the items on & I don't notice an overt Imp walk in to my shop I'm nothing but free faction points as far as that person in concerned. If I wanted to PvP at the timeI would be using my other character.

Thats my opinion on it anyway. (Sorry if you did start the thread for discusing it in but I couldn't see it off hand & as it's nearly 3am in the morning I felt a couple of quick looks for it would do ^_^ )

1) No, I woulnd't mind needing to be aligned, but the TEF would boot my from my house reducing the speed with which I could craft items (Especially if there were faction components required to make faction items).

2) No, because there would be very little risk. Can you say factory.

3) No, again, can you say factory.

1) yes

2) yes... there is no risk if you're crafing inside a private residence, and they fix tef's bouncing you outside structures

3) not a valid question: if I end up on a BH terminal for crafting it then maybe.

Add you must be overt, and must be craftedat a public crafting station... thiswill add a team element to getting the job done.

If you really want to spice things up.. then make instanced crafting stations with a time limit, and faction NPC's attacking while it's being crafted (including something like a 5 minute hopper time). Heck, bring DE's in for the termain brain, and armorsmith in to armor the walls. You can do the same with turrets by including weaponsmiths for the barrels, us for the walls, and armorsmiths for the shielding.
