TH confirms that we will have to give up our crafting skills in order to run the yt-2400 quest as the ship is no-trade. Gotta love this group.

Part of our problem is that the devs have stated - more than once - that they want to make less interaction between combat and non-combat profs (think battle fatigue, usefull buffs pre-cu). What this has done is essentially split the game into two different games. Therein lays the problem. The very core of the game was designed to force interaction between professions. By tweaking that core design with little concern for 1/2 of the equation, they have all but destroyed something that was once special... unique... socially interactive... fun.

They will never remove crafting 100%, but IMO the game will always be about combat now... and that is really sad.

painting schematics to craft, which are no trade, so unless you make the schematic yourself with the CHu ding dong ping pong cube , you won't get to craft it..... so i bet most people will just delete it

That's not what they said. The developers said that their design goal was to promote interaction for players to 'get something good' rather than 'get rid of something bad', hence the elimination of battle fatigure. There's limits to that, of course, given the medical professions (though I think that should mean a bit of enhancement to buffs), but the goal at least is not to separate into two games, it's to promote positive interaction.

Sorry - I should have said implied. All you need to do is read into that a little bit and see the flaw. I digress.

That's not a digression, that's a straw man argument.

That is exactly what made me leave Anarchy Online for SWG -- SWG was unique in its equal footing between combat and noncombat oriented roles. This WAS a seriously groundbreaking game system, the ONLY one on the market that catered to everyone's game style, not just one common denominator. But the CU and other subsequent publishes are taking the game backwards into the realm of the typical and boring -- NOT a direction I choose to walk for much longer, should it continue.

The only reason I put up with the lousy customer service, the atrocious community relations and the complete lack of quality assurance in this game is the social and creative side of it. If they continue to diinish these facets of SWG, I'll be joining my husband and my local irl friends in WoW. Because if SWG is going to become Just-AnotherCombat-Game, I'll play one with a better dev team.

No flaw, my jedi alt is a Architect, not a BH, I also have 2 accounts and alot of Jedi that have 2 accounts put there crafter as there alt, the Jedi I know most are crafters on there alt, maybe it is different on your server, but unless you and I have that data we dont know. As far as your other suggestion goes, you just backed up what I said earlier, SOE knows that most crafters have 2 accounts, so they most likely lump all those accounts together as 1 Sale, I would since most people cannot or will not buy 2 copies of an expansion. Expansions are not made for money, they are designed to keep accounts active the real money comes from monthly fee's, not the sale of the game.

And what happens when the crafters get tired of getting no love at all, get fed up with the game cause each expansion ignores them over and over. So then not only did they not buy the expansion, but they cancel their accounts, tired of the SOE BS about getting some love, they move onto other games or other Rl things. Now soe looses those monthly fees.
Plain and simple Crafters own the most accounts. Rarely if ever does someone buy a second account because they want 2 or 3 fighters. No they grind Jedi and make their alt a BH. The vast majority of people who own 2 or more accounts are crafters and entertainers, ignore them and when they quite the game SOE looses multiple accounts. On top of that when those accounts get closed, do you think they took the time to pull their houses, factories, vendor shops, and harvester fields? Nope they stay around cluttering the countryside

Well if they are crafters like you... we hope they leave.

You know, that bad attitude of "if you don't like it, just leave" is wearing really thin! Look around! That's what people are doing! So instead of chasing players off, lets try gaining new players and KEEPING the old ones!

This game is dying. I bet less then 50% of the accounts purchase this expansion, and that 20% are cancelled because of it. Heck, I cancelled one of my accounts, and out of a Guild of around 50 accounts, we have lost around 15.

Nice marketing. What is SWGs share vs WoW? What was it 9 months ago? Maybe SWG should rethink its marketing and business plans, they don't seem to be working.
