Thread: Architect Calculator
I think I will drive you mad, lol. The HQ costs work great, but there is one problem with them. I will give you an example. If I want to make say a Heavy Gas, then only the LG Ore that goes in the final combine should take the HQ price, this would be 1,050 units, however if you enter a HQ price for LG Ore, then the full 7k+ is using that price.
It is the same with other resources that are used in some places as HQ and others as Grind Q (e.g. Steel and Metal)
I figure this must be more complicated than I first thought. Sorry ![]()

DOH!!
Alright version 2.2 is up and running. I've split the harvester page so that you can calculate the High Quality Material cost for both the harvester and the mining unit together, or for only the harvester materials used in the final combine. I've also added a Price List page to allow you to record the purchase price for items that you buy, such as Droid Storage Compartments.

Well ive been an architect for just over a month now I reckon and I wish I had seen this sooner!...sticky it please!
Great stuff and gratz for the work put into it, its given me a good idea of what to charge realistically now. Ive set my average cpu at 3 with 40% profit and the prices look good.
One thing which is hard to work out is still the Heavy Gas harvs...might be mixing it up somewhere but putting a price of 4cpuabove metal changes teh item cost in A8, but not on the price list page? Not sure if this is intended or not.
Either way its a great tool and will help me tons!
KUTGW!
Yes this is intended. I haven't worked out exactly how to incorporate the High Quality Materials cost into the Price Page. I'm working on it, so hopefully soon ![]()
Glad you like it! ![]()

The resource cost part works fine for the final combine resources when using HQ cpu, but in addition to the final combine you also need to factor in the resources used for the 'mining component'. For all harvesters you can assume that the mining unit, drill pump, harvesting mech etc (but NOT the manuf mech) also needs HQ resources, so when you apply the HQ resource price this needs to be done for the resources used in those as well. e.g. for a Heavy Gas the 'metal' needs 7100 units of HQ for the final combine PLUS the 420 units for the turbo fluid drill pump.
I hope this is an easy 'tweak', and I hope you don't think I am being picky, this is a great calculator and a lot of effort has gone into it, Once it is 'perfect' we should ask Deviance to sticky it on the board. Your efforts are really appreciated
This has already been done
If you put a "N" value in cell B4, the program will calculate the price of the harvester based on ONLY THE FINAL COMBINE. So if you use high grade steel and ore to make the final combine, but not the OMU (don't know why you'd do this, but whatever), then you'd leave this value as an "N". If you want the final price to include pricing for high quality material for both the harvester and the mining unit, then change B4 to "Y".
Now that I'm thinking about this while writing this post, the implementationsounds very cumbersome. I'm going to play with it and see if I can make it so that you can set different prices for both the mining unit and the final combine. That way if you use steel @ 10 cpu in the mining unit and steel at 5 cpu in the final combine, you can charge for both of those.
Stay tuned
Thanks Bandola.

Jeez, how stupid, I never even noticed that. Perfect !
It works great, but DON'T change it. Why ? Because there is a little trick with Fusions at the moment, so if you do a factory run only the OMU used in the schematic needs to be HQ, for this reason you WOULD want to set the option to NO on components when making these.
Great job, I love it, just wish I looked closer before I put up my last post ![]()
Found a couple more errors. All on the Harvesters page:
76F - Not calculating total.
46O, 71O, 76O, 77O - Not calculating total.

That is all
I'll be coming out with 2.3 today, so I'll check those errors to make sure that I've got them fixed. Thanks GJ.
