Thread: People that are selling houses for 10K You are RUINING the market
First off ... Architects that powerlevel by making houses & dumping them on the market need to stop spinning their wheels & grab their calculators. When looked at in terms of Low Grade Oreper point of exp gained (and let's face it, LGO is the only difficult component to gather in large quantities even for small-time loner runt architects like me), small Harvesters offer over 4x the bang for your buck in terms of exp. On the other hand, you have to make far more Harvesters than you would Houses to level up, so you sacrifice Time. In terms of Resource efficiency anyway, Houses are not the way to go.
Secondly ... you guys shouldn't be ticked at the PA's for using the system the SWG Devs made for them. The game mechanics promote mindless grinding to Achieve, and for a LOT of people who play these types of games, achieving Master _____ and having a giant shiny PA Hall is all that matters. Every single Artisan Profession is - sooner or later - going to go through a phase where their market is dumped by PA Masters power-grinding their way up. Will prices ever assume some kind of "logical normality" where Houses cost more than Helmets? I don't know, maybe not. As in all onling games, there will always be people powerleveling their way up the tree, willing to dump their goods for anything they can get when the market is glutted with whatever bauble gives them the fastest climb. You can hardly blame them for grabbing what credits they can when the alternative is deleting the items that the designed system dictates they have to grind thru to advance.
How many of the people in this thread, unhappy with the current state of the Architect economy, powered their way thru Engineering4 to Novice Architect by cranking out either Muzzles or Bone Armor in mass quantities? /raise! I did. I bet most of us did or we wouldn't even be able to discuss with each other our failures at making Medium Houses not even 2 weeks after release. We used the same system that the PA Master Architects did, in the same way they did. They just have the advantage of having dozens/hundreds of Harvesters at their disposal, so of course they were able to glut the market first. We're no better than they are; we're just smaller, further behind the curve and feeling the pain of it. Should houses sell for 30k+? Well of course they *should*. But they never will with the Artisan advancement designed the way it is.
If you want to be angry about it, rail at the Devs. Not the PA's.

Ruining the market for who?
Most of ppl right now are jus trying to lvl up, the making money part comes later. You sell a house for 10k and so what if its only 3 credits per resources you also gain EXP, why as a customer am I expected to pay for your lvl and for you to turn a huge profit? Plus most are guild funded and so the burdon of lvling up is way smallers so even if they sell for 10k they are still turning a profit.
Also remember that the game is 10 days old and your not going to make all your money in the frist month.
Bitslizer, your analysis is filled with the mistakes that I avoid toallow me to make my houses and sell them for 5K. First of all, if you're sitting on a 1500/ore / 24 hrs. spot, that'shovering around 30%, which is the bare minimum, you're already in trouble.A *good* architect would find a better spot. Secondly, houses require 850-ish metal; it's not thatdifficult to find a 70% metalvein, which means that one dedicated metalharvester at 140 an hourover6 hours puts out enough for a house. Over 24 hours, that metal harvester puts out enough for *four* houses. So get 6 or 7 ore harvesters going to match that output, and throw in2 windgens on topof that. We're looking at 3000 +6000 =9000 creditsto produce 4 houses.Selling the houses at 5Keach is already a 11000 credit profit, and since all this can be done in one run if youjust check once every 24 hours, even with your absurd labor costs of 6000 credits you're still making 5000 credits a day.
As for needing a chemical harvester, are you really going to tell me you need a harvester running for 24 hours to get you 18 units of fiberplast?
The point of all this is that I *don't* care about making an obscene profit. Sure I could run fedex and rack up 10000 creds in a hour. Am I going to? Only if I'm strapped for cash; I find selling cheap houses immensely more satisfying, notbecause of the money I make but the fun I havein almost giving these things away. I'm meeting people left and right, and earning their gratitude and trust. People are *grateful* when you quote them 5K when they've just heard 30K a few minutes ago. And even when I level up, I'm going to stay in the small housing biz; it's the right place to be.

And as for the weaponsmiths setting the prices on materials... We architects are the back end of materials in the galaxy; if we can cram it into our schematics, who cares. We can't waste profit margins trying to get experimental durability up by a few % with superior materials from the other end of the galaxy. We take what we have at home and make what people need. Weaponsmiths need to go tromping all over the galaxy to get the finest materials. Let's face it. They're the jewlers of the artisan trade and we're the coal miners. To compare our resource markets is completly absurd, so toeven suggest we price our resources according to their models is fallacious reasoning for inflated prices. We can largely get what we need on-planet, on-time - if we're willing to do the leg work and mine it in absurd amounts. It doesn't have to be pretty, but we're not squeezing out 5 more damage out of weapons.

Tell that to the guy that thinks ore should sell for 5 creds/unit. You're prices do not allow for a comodities market. I should be able to buy every single resource I need from another player and still make a profit off of my labour. Your prices do not allow that.
140 metal/hr on personal harvester. My steel harvester at 83% only pump out approximately 2300 steel / 24 hours that's roguly 95 per hr @ 83%
My copper harvster at 74% as i previously said only do about 80 per hr
My ore harvseter pre-resources change over the weekend was at 53%(decent not great) and my approx 1500 ore/24hrs were valid for the each of the 8 PME i had up mining ore.
All these numbers are back up with a week worth of hard persoanl observation
to theortically calculate the resources output is simple,
2kg/hr(the rate shown for Personal harvester) * % concentration of material being mine * 60 RL min/RL hr * 24 RL hour a day = theoritical resources output per real day, I invite everyone who read this to compare their daily output against this formula
for my steel:
2 * 0.83 * 60 * 24 = 2390.4 which is close to my HARD OBSERVATION number, the smaller number Iobserved accounts for server downtime and or slight difference(within 30mins) when I pick up resources each evening.
for my copper:
2 * 0.74 * 60 * 24 = 2131.4 relatlivey close to my observation number but not as close as my steel
for my ore:
2 * 0.53 * 60 * 24 = 1526 pretty close to my observation number
ANYONE been able to produce 3000+ metal / 24 hour using a personal harvester with hard observation?
Corbantis Naboo currently have NO alunimum, so we are force to
A) build harvseter on other planet
B) purchase the aluminum needed on the resources market.
If we uses the same resources and there is demand for them from other profession, then our resource market is DIRECTLY tie to other profession resources market,
If there's some way for other profession to "recycle" our deeds back into resources they would be doing it in a heartbeat just to lower their resources purchase cost.
the only reason we aren't seeing the same situation much is because Arch. experimentation is borked to hell and everything every Arch built is identical to everything every other Arch built. If experiementation work and affect maintence cost, power consumption, we too would be squeezing out that extra durability/efficiency
I don't understand you people complaining about low house prices. If they bother you that much buy them up yourself and resell them later. By your fair priceway of thinkingyou should make an incredible profit and quite easily.
Then again maybe your idea of a fair price is off base. Or, you are too lazy to go gather your own resources so youarein the redon a house until you sell it. But that's your choice.I make all of my own components from my own material so whenI sell a house whatever theprice is pure profit. 10k is mighty attractive when you are flat broke from maintaining harvesters, where most of the pull is being used to XP up, and you need cash quick.
Greed runs rampant among us it appears. Maybe it's time to start helping our newb Arch compatriots instead of criticizing them for trying to make ends meet.
