I must say I have never, after almost 600 days of play, seen the func go down on a standing station.
My own stations are more then a yr old, and still retain their original rateing.
I have moved, stored, and traveled with them and have never seen the actual func rateing change.
Crafting tools can lose effectivness (without it showing on the func rateing) every time you die.
Tailors found this out by the fact you have to have pristine ones to make the crafting aprons.
and of course eventually the turn red and won't work if you die enough, see sig, I die alot

what's the Shock Resistance on the resources you are using now, compared to the resources you were using then?

Your crafting station and tools do not affect the maximum experimentation values. Those are set by the stats of your materials. Stations & Tools affect the chance for failures/good/amazing assembly and experimentation results.

Are there stats for the droid storage If so do they matter for the station rating or is it just a matter of having them?

The droid storage doesn't visibly show a stat like a fuction rating. But the experimentation does matter towards the final station rating. Droid storage compartments give you a -5 to +5 difference. So a very bad DSCcould reduce your station rating but a good one will count for up to +5 points.
So to hit max on your station rating you will want a DSC made by a master DE experimented as high as possible using a material with the best Cond / OQ combo possible.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you have to achieve Novice Droid Engineer to fully craft a crafting station, one of the components is a droid storage compartment, same thing for one of the schematics under master artisan, though I don't remember which . . .

Droid engineers do make the droid storage compartment but to make a good one it should be experimented as high as possible by a master droid engineer. The quality of DSC that a novice DE can make is not worth using and in fact would probably lower your total station rating.
