Thread: Containers
Well, this is easy to say since I'm passed that point, so take it with a grain of salt, but.....
I would NOTpay 6K to slice a container. I'd find a starport without a Novice Smuggler in front of it (if possible) and try starting at 2K per container. A lot of people (including myself) don't want to have to deal with them in their overcrowded inventory and may be happy to get rid of it and make a little cash at the same time. Anyway... Good Luck with it.
I don't know how it is on other servers but I've had quite a few people ask me if I'd slice containers for them. I always do it for free because I need the XP and I've only had to buy maybe 4 or 5 conatiners myself to finish the first box.
Definately get some clamps though it's so nice to know the slice is going to work.
I was grinding through the hell of 70k of unarmed IV over the last 2 nights. I went to meatlump spawns on the outskirts of Coronet. I had read in other threads that they would drop the containers, and I figured a fast spawn at even a low level of xp was faster than running (riding) back and forth grabbing missions over and over.
With this, it took about 8 hours or so of play, 4 spawns of meatlump fools on average about every 2 minutes, giving 79 unarmed xp. By my figuring I killed roughly 880 or so meatlumps to get the 70k of unarmed. Out of that I got 4 locked containers, 11 CDEF pistols, 10 CDEF carbines, 20 hand axes, various useless clothes and about 30k in cash.
Having posted a similar question myself a few days ago, I started MOB hunting at Nashal on Talus last night. I managed to get 5 containers from the dearly departed
in about 2 and a half hours. I racked up 13k pistols xp: and you get about 50 for each one you kill... you do the math ![]()
Not easy. You have to be patient. Or, you could do as one kind player suggested - "go and buy them at Fraggel Rock". No offense guys, you have a really full vendor and you are charging 6120 creds per container. It's killing the profession!!! I know which one I would do.
Incidentally, does anyone else get the feeling that those players you see grinding the MOBs in cities are not doing so for containers to slice, but for containers to SELL!? ![]()
The suggestion that you offer to pay 2k for one is not so mad as it sounds, but you will be hard pressed to find anyone not trying to exploit this 'weakness' in the slicing tree.

I managed to luck up to 11 containers. Now I can't find anymore and I'm wearing a huge happy hat over the Devs making it so that I require a looted item to advance my profession.
