Thread: Hello Everyone.. and get ready to get to work..
I wondered which crafting profession TH took when he started crafting. Would love to hear more on his thoughts about crafting, especially after he takes up Master Artisan, Master DE, and a few merchant skills to go with his arch skills...

How are you finding the skill progression? I've heard that architect is one of the most pleasant crafting professions to advance in(with weaponsmith and DE being the most "grindy"), but I'm curious to hear what you think of the advancement compared with the combat classes.

When you get setup on Test Center, let me know, and I can help you if you need anything there.
ArchAngel and I had a great working relationship, and I would love to continue that tradition.
Since it is all about the resources, it can be hard to make sure the stuff that they changed on TC is working right, even after they boost your skills. If you do not play there full time, you are never going to have what you need, unless you get the know the local community.
At least there are not just 3 architects on TC anymore. Lately there seem to be quite a few, and I am sure that the others will also lend you a hand if need by.

I aggree 10 questions need to be first addressed .. while we work on a new concise set of current Top 5 issues.. I will post a thread shortly to discuss both of these.
Congratulations on your new position as Architect correspondent. You are sorely needed here and I'm sure that after the adjustment period, you'll do an excellent job.
I feel, though, that I must point out that your response to the question of how you got to be correspondent is extremely troubling. It is certainly no way to start off and get people to trust you. It is, however, an outstanding way to alienate people and raise hostilities where none should exist. Your "take my word for it, kids, there are things beyond your understanding" tone put my hackles up immediately, and I'm not a person who rises to that kind of bait very easily. You could have responded to this question much, much better.
I, too, am more active in the forums than people realize. However, I would not be so arrogant as to state as much with such a condescending attitude as you displayed here, in answer to an extremely basic question. I was, in fact, quite put out with your reply here, especially since you've sprung unforeseen from the foam. We really have no idea who you are. You have to prove that you're trustworthy before people will...well, trust you.
I suggest that before you tackle the issues you tackle two tremendously important fundamentals first:
1) Learn how to communicate in an open, friendly, approachable manner...which your answer here certainly does nothing to indicate; and
2) Learn how to spell and write well. Your medium is entirely a written one. If you expect to be taken seriously, you can't come across like someone who has slept through most of their English classes.
Good luck. I'm hoping that as time goes on, I will be more apt to have confidence in you. The architect community is in sore need of fixing, and we're counting on you to help facilitate that and be our voice. However, that won't happen just because you say it should. We will only stand by you if you're on our side...and mean it.
May the Force be with you.
As someone in the design and construction industry in the real world, the problem I see with the architect prof in the game is we really have no architect options. We assemble someone elses predetermined designs, and can't even see a layout or floor plan during construction.
This is like calling an assembly worker in a moble home factory an ARCHITECT, get real, If yor going to call this an Architect Profession than give us some freedom to DESIGN our own homes and structures. I understand there are perameters we must work within but if we spend the massive amount of time it takes grinding out the experience to become a Master, PLEASE give us some freedom as Master Architects to do what REAL Architects do......DESIGN.....give us the opportunity to stand out and above the rest.
Also the ability to place items on tables and such, what good does a "Desk Lamp" do on the floor, or a piece of art that sits on the floor (how many Thomas Kinkades do you lean against the wall at your house) come on guys lets get real. You can drag stuff back and forth form inventory to packs to hoppers to where ever, why not be able to drag small items to tables and pictures to walls.
Don't get me wrong I love this "Game" but lets make it worth while for people to become crafters instead of just running around KILLING stuff.
/cheers for the new correspondent!!!
/puts on the "I like to craft" t-shirt...

I do find myself "nekkid" without combat skills though...
Welcome to one of the most enjoyable (and sometimes frustrating) professions in the game! What flavor of architect are you--industrial or residential? Just curious, because if you dabble in the residential I'm hoping you'll develop game decor envy and sneak us in some more schematics of the cool and architecturally inaccessible items scattered throughout the galaxies.

Cool! A voice from the darkness! The Great Devs on high can now hear our pleas! (Yop Yop).
As for the nekkid part.....
