Oh, and yeah, I've had a few courses in economics as well as run into it fairly often in my job.

They do not apply to things I do for fun.

Youknow, it isn't price fixing to want 2-3 credits as a return for your effort, especially when you have to pay for the cost of failures andharvester downtime due to resource shifts. I like a competitive market, but it has to make sense.

Some people do not place a value on their time or effort; and do affect the economy by poor pricing practicies. I've seen many of these type of architects not last in the business, either, after lowering the expectations of customers and giving reputable architects a hard time.

It is sad to see people charging 1-2 creditsper resourcefor installations andlarger structures. It does imply that our profession has little value to the artists within it, much less toour customers. What, is our time now worth 0-.5 credits per resource and we get to pay for our critical failures rather than spread the costs over time?

Other professions are smart enough to value themselves and to insist that their customers respect them. We are not.

You know... when I look back on my days as a novice... I was thinking similiar to Dayln. But I think that Dayln has left out a very important part of the "why". Experience points. Myself back then I did not care about losing money on adeal so long as I got some money because I was just happy to be getting experience. This is where I believe Dayln is at right now.... Eventually Dayln's views will change when the EXP rewards for the work goes away. When I became a MA,I no longer needed to do all that work for the exp and little money to keep afloat. At that point, the only rewards I had left for building was money, and saving up equitable resources... I stopped building and holding on to deeds that collected dust in my invetory. I now only build upon request. I raised my prices because it was my reward for the work. When I was able to sell any buildings I focused on furniture.. I went on a search for the resources needed to make all the master level furniture, and now I make lots of it and sell it for cheap(compared to others, but not 'too" cheap)

I began advertising myself as an interior decorator. I have since fully furnished 3 Large houses, 1 PA hall, 4 Medium houses, and 3 small houses. Am I rich? not really.. Do I enjoy what I do, certainly. Am I able to stay in business? you bet. I still sell buildings even at my "high prices" not very often tho, but that is fine with me, making structures is alot of work, and my higher prices keep me from being overburdened and have lots of time to take decorating jobs.

Dayln, one day you will no longer have the reward of gaining exp, and at that point you will change your whole outlook on prices for your hard work, I guarantee it.
