Thread: On Going New Structure Idea Thread..
I think the warehouse idea would be great, but make it a structure that requires master arch to keep. It would offset that fact that arch products use the most resources, factories take twice the lots(with the same storage capacity) and some items don't crate (or crate in 5's). The warehouse should be a large structure that holds 800 - 1000 items and has a spot for crafting so you can get the resources and parts to make a schematic and start your factory all in one place.
Corals would be good too. A place for CH's to display their wares and it should have a vendor interface so people could buy tamed pets from it. This would solve some of the spamming problem because CH's would have a place to sell tamed pets other than spamming for people to buy them.
Another Improvement I'd like to see is that we be able to set admin and entry to certain rooms in structures. It would be good to have a showroom in the front of a building without having the whole building public.
Shopping malls would be good. A huge structure placed in player cities that had shops in it. It would use one lot for each shop used. The lots would be the lots belonging to the player who placed a vendor. So each player who placed a vendor would use one lot. This would have to be placed by a master merchant and would give players a place to go to shop for varieties of merchandise and give players a place to display their wares in a one-lot shop.
Player garages would be cool. This would have to be placed next to a player's house. This is a place to park vehicles where you can call your vehicle instantly, paint your vehicles and repair your vehicles. It would take one lot unless it was place by your declaired residence.
Something that would be good for archs is to have subcomponents (harvesting mechs, ore mining units, turbo fluidic, etc..) decay and have a life span based on the quality. This would make the durabilty experimentation actually do something and would put a stop to one - time harvester buying. Archs could sell repair or replacement parts or could charge to repair harvesters. It would be a good way for archs to have a steady source of income and be a place to funnel some of the excess credits that are building up in this game to. It would also make crafting of harvesters more of a challenge...since the harvesters would display decay rate(durabilty) and BER.
On the same lines, houses would have a decay on the power cores. The more decayed the power core, the higher the maintenance for the house. Again, decay rate would depend on the quality of the components used and archs could sells parts or charge for repairs. Also, houses and structures with better quality power cores would have more lighting capacity than junk houses.
Oh yeah, making the correlian houses look more like the correlian city structures on the outsidde would be nice.
I mean what is the point of them looking just like the generics. Make them tall and black on the outside. It would just look nicer and more people would use them.
First off, a small comment on renewable income.. Unfortunately it seems the only items players accept as decaying/destroyable are items involved in combat/PvP/GCW. So let's keep houses and harvesters like they are now, remove decay on candles (We're not gona sell any of those in a few months, ppl get tired of having to 're-decorate' every so often), and focus on giving us structures players can use in the GCW/PvP. Someone talked about bunkers, that's cool, city walls that can be destroyed would be awesome, the potential here is huge. Anything the trigger happy group of players can use will be golden in their book, even if they have to buy a new one every so often.
Specifics:
-Post Office.. Awesome idea! Best one yet, I think. Though not renewable, it's still cool.
-Harvester Platforms. Again, very nice idea. Make harvesting at sea an option, and in hilly terrain. But make them a one use item only. You place it and that's it. You can re-deed the harvester, but when you do the platform will decay and vanish. Perfect renewable item.
-Condos/Apartments.. I would love that. It would promote more of a comunity feeling too, I think, if people shared housing.
-Palace. Again, perfect. Somewhere for those double digit millionaires to spend their money. >![]()
These are my favourite ideas I've seen so far. Good work guys!

A small sporting arena.
I'm thinking of acircular oroval arena build into the ground. Could be usedfor pet or player dueling events as well as an open air theatre for plays and musical performances. Maybe attach large displays which can be configured to display custom messages like scores or announcements. Along with it could come a small booth for a chef to sell some snacks and beverages and maybe some sub-level catacombs for the actors / duelists to prepare for the show, from which they can enter the arena gloriously through a separateentrance, accompanied by fireworks and lighting effects.
I'm no Architect, i'm just kind of browsing around the forums seeing what other professions are talking about, and seeing what kind of ideas you guys are thinking of.
When i read this one, i got really excited... I would LOVE to see a small colluseum-esqu place for holding plays, musicals, and duels, or other sporting events that people could come up with.
I especially think that this idea could help increase the amount of Player Created Events for their cities in order to generate more traffic to their town (and town's vendors) as well as just be a very enjoyable experience. i can see now that some poeple would start to host Tournaments between either players vs. players or creatures vs. creatures.
Harvestor plattforms

I'm for this. The ability to place harvesters in 'hard to reach' locations. They can be 'one use' for all I care. I would whole heartedly support this as an addon option to the harvester design OR as a predrop function that modifies the terrain with a time limit to use. Once the harvester is placed the terrain stays locked until it (the harvester) is removed. Then, when removed, like a camp, the terrain reverts. I would also support different degrees of modification.
Degrees could be:
1. Deep water - Would place derrick for placement of harvester
2. River bed - Would place derrick for placement of harvester
3. 'Rough', but otherwise flat, terrain
4. Light slope
5. Medium Slope
6. Steep slope
7. Mountain top
Each type could have it's resource requirments. These would Definitely be a recurring purchase for many people with harvesters.
Note : I see no reason not to extend this idea to houses. Many people who live in cities on the water would Love to be able to place houses offshore.

My city lies at a slope and the houses are placed on the flat terrain and the slope/hills are useless. I would like to be able placing factories on it...
I think we should be allowed to build roads as well as walls or archways for the cities.
Also, for those cities that span rivers... bridges would be nice!
I think floor rugs and paints for the interior walls of a house would be a nice idea too.
I feel that houses should have options much like statues/gardens.. where you craft say a Medium Naboo House, and then you have a selection of 3 or 4 different layouts to choose from, and maybe change the tint of the color. Maybe even offer additions to existing houses, such as the medium Naboo spawn houses that have the little garden, or things of that nature. Furniture should also have many more options, beginning with simply the ability to change colors, and hopefully new types of furniture.
Granted, I understand that the developers are not too keen on introducing many new items to the game, but I feel that this type of change is important not only for the Architect profession, the economy, but the game as a whole. People lack the ability to seperate themselves from anyone else with the items they own or wear. This type of addition I feel would add a significant level of satisfaction to OVERALL gameplay... which is duly needed as the veteran SWG players struggle to find more reasons to play and logon.
Anyways, this is just my .02 cents, I saw the thread and bit
