Huntercrom- How many times do we have to dismiss that making things stack higher will nothelp the server storage issue. If all items stacked to 50 mil, it would clear tons of inv, which everyone would immediatly fill with other stuff. Stacking higher is a temp fix at best to storage issue, the only reason it is still an issue, is it would make life WAY easier for those of us who craft or have multiple crafting proffesions.

Realistically, this idea would just make rare resources even harder to come by and turn a fun game into work.

Who are you? The king of SWG? You sure as hell don't speak for me.

We aren't dismissing anything. Resource stacking is the only reasonable means of storage reduction within an Oracle database that uses individual signed items for every event.

Storage for me would go from managing 35 houses (now) to at WORST 4. Listen to me.

I DO NOT WANT TO MANAGE THIRTY-FIVE HOUSES BECAUSE YOU CANNOT MAKE A DEBATABLE POINT PAST THE NOSE ON YOUR FACE.

I want to have a workshop with all the architect and artisan stuff in one place, including resources.

I want to have a workshop with all the doc/cook stuff in one place, including resources.

I want to have a house to decorate with my trophies.

I want to have a long-term storage place to put things I do not use regularly.

That's it! Count'em! FOUR. My family plays 7 characters in this game and we could live with FOUR houses if storage was reasonable.

That's an 850% reduction is REAL STORAGE STRUCTURES on the database. If you knew anything about Oracle, that's a 1400% reduction is real space used on disk.

This would impact Architects on different levels. Firstly, we have the greatest dependance on materials. Secondly, harvesters are our business and with the number of harvesters already on the market the already slowed market would die.

Many Architects are already Master Artisans so we wouldn't be impacted directly. However, we also have the lowest price per resource for our finished products. The price of materials would rise while demand drops. This is a disasterous combination for the Architect.

For every harvester that exists presently there are likely ten that are operated by someone who would no longer be able to operate them. A large part of those are operated by ghosts while others are operated by combat characters helping out or suplimenting their income or helping a guildy. The ghosts can learn Artisan, no problem. The real people can't thus the people who will survive are those who make ghost deals.

Overall I think this is an aweful idea unless they introduce something to suppliment our market. That could be decay or factional bases or a new product line of furniture.

1.) It would be awesome to have subcomponents (walls, etc) to stack in crates of 1k , would make managing inventory a lot easier.
2.) It would be cool to stack resources higher than 100k. I don't think it will lead to people getting even more resources though. I could only get so many resources no matter what cuz of my number of lots. I usually sell off my older resources or use them as grinding materials then. With the space saving with resource stacks and subcomponent stacks, my house might actually look like someone lives there instead of a wearhouse. I'd love to have room for this stuff called "furniture".

3.) Master Artisan is a pre-req, not a final elite crafting profession. Just like Master Marksman is a pre-req for more advanced fighting skills, they aren't meant to be a powerful fighter.

4.) I agree that something needs needs to be done to curb cross server lot trading. But if you let only Artisans harvest, people will just create artisans then.
