Hi,

to just make a short post in this thread:

From my point of view, there is no business for architects. ...

Are you meaning to say that the worse problem we have is the long term prospects?
I don't think you literally mean there is ZERO money to be made in our business today.

We had 8 of the best ever spawns across the spectrum for professions this week. I've sold whatever (really don't know) was on my vendors and over 300+ new heavies in 4 days at 160k per. I burned through 5000 walls in 2 days. Needless to say it's been a bit overwhelming.

Architect harvestors are a cyclical business. Better be able to survive the rides, both feast or famine.

On Kettemoor, we had a spawn of Class 4 liquid petro chemical pop up a couple weeks ago and the resulting demand cleared out all the Deep Crust extractors for at least a couple of us.

Couldn't have said it better. I can go a week or two selling very little. Then WHAM! I sell 5 fusions, 3 heavies, and 10 mediums. Not to mention I can't keep houses on the vendors. They sell fast!

Generally as an architect, I'm swamped by orders or restocking vendors. I simply don't see this "no business out there" that a few people talk about.

It takes a while, and it goes in cycles. But I am constantly busy selling everything from furniture to harvesters to houses. Even city halls go at the rate of 1 or 2 a month. It's all about the advertising and service. Once you are established, and your main profession is architect, you should be alright.

If you PvP most of the time, have a order-only business, or think of Architect as just a way to pick up money in your spare time, you won't be as prosperous as those who dedicate themselves to it. And this goes for ANY profession in the game.

Of course, now it will be harder with the vendor nerf, but what are you going to do, right? lol

A lot of folks have given a lot of good advice here.

I'd still be interested to hear more from newer folks who have recently mastered and what difficulties they might have ran into.

Things I've seen cited as hurdles to achieving success:

Getting AP to hit master.

Resource availability both quality and quantity.

Establishing your name.

AP just takes time and thats a pain nowadays admittedly. Try hanging around Mos Eisley a bit, thats where the newbs start now.

Resource stockpiles take time to grow. One thing I was curious is the availability of 900+ stat HR, SR & UT steel. I checked SWGcraft and about half the servers currently have steel listed with 900+ stats. So it should be fairly readily available in general. Just wait for a good vein to pop then throw every harvester you can on it. The average heavy takes about 2k of good metal so if you throw 6 x BER10's on a decent vein of steel for a week, you should be able to get enough for a couple hundred harvesters worth.

See the rest of this thread for tons of advice on establishing your name.

I have been master for a week. I'm not having a problem getting any business. With my merchants advertised on the world map and the Master Architect Tile over my head (and searchable) I have been getting a steady flow of business.

My biggest problem is resource management. I keep on runnig out of ore. I have 10 harvestors going at all times and I constaly run out. Recently I took my 10 harvestors off of the ore to put on some really nice steel that spawned on my server, that threw my supply totaly off balance. Now I have great steel but no ore. I have a guilde that helps me mine for 1 cpu Thank God. And just FYI I grinded on walls, and I used em all up with the first couple of days.

Its all great fun though, I'm having a blast and so far my new customers are very happy with me.
