Type 2 mostly. I have borrowed osme lots from a friend now and then. At first I didn't borrow any lots but now that I am amking medium and large items that require so much, I have had to.

I make things as people ask me. I don't grind away for the most part. When I do have a lot of resources, I will make some houses and go peddle my wares in town. I am mostly leveling as I am asked to make things.

I guess i would be considered 1-3. I am a solo architect but I run 6 accounts. I love architecture but economicly it is not a feasible profession in my opinion. Profit margins on structures is the pits, thanks to all the Type 1 and a lowering demand. I only charge 3.5cpu per structure which seems to be the avg.

I love arhchitecture and plan on being an urban planner but honestly I have made far better money selling smuggler goods and I am also working on a weaponsmith.

I am almost master once I reach it i am fairly certain that I will cease trying to sell structures and only fill orders for some of my repeat customers. I will probobly turn to selling resources and other goods I like to make, powerups, smuggler goods, meds, and other stuff that is much higher demand and pray that Urban Planner brings a lot more to offer than what I feel architecture turned out to be.

i'm definately a 3.

i did it so i could make a pa hall for our group. we got about 15 people but only 2-4 people actually gave me resources they all wanted their resources for themselves to level their weaponsmith or armorsmith. i'd give it up if it hadn't been so much work and effort. i got to master in about 3 weeks. hardly the like 3 days some other groups got it in i think. anyways. its not been good to me. i can't sell stuff for anything i already offer it lower than most and still get asked to lower my price.i don't even sell stuff anymore i'm just a master architect. its not worth my time o make something and then sell it.

people need to look at it. stuff on the bazaar sells for like 3-6cr per resource usually but it caps, you can only sell up to 3000cr at a time.

that means, taking it at 3cr per resource and seeling a house for 3cr a resource and thats if you fail NOTHING you are not making even a littl profit. one failure is devastating. if you sell at 3.5cr per resource though peole yell and scream and moan how we charge too much. for us to make a decent profit we need to sell at 5cr per resource.

but anyways i've reverted to doing missions. i make about 100times more money this way than if i were to craft and sell.

Yeah I get the bitch and moans about prices as well, at 3.5cpu you are getting a bargin imo. A huge bargin, you want me to use a weaponsmiths cpu? I'd be more than happy to.

When someone complains to me about prices I tell them i will create the item for free if they supply me the resources needed. What do I need to get you? they ask. I then give themlist of all materials (I actually have macros for this because it is so much fun) then if i get a response at all it is usually oh.. well when you can you one ready for me. That tends to shut them up 75% of time. The other 25% i don't need their business and are added to my ignore list, I hope they don't look my for any other types of goods.

I'm impressed, Vyper

You pegged me as a Type 3. In the beginning, I never even thought I'd like to craft anything. Then my experiences from UO told me that for some reason I'm eventually going to want a house and so is everyone in my family (4 of us currently play out of 6). Anyway, we're down to this:

I build, but do not sell to the public. Mainly because every time I've tried to sell something, I've either been laughed off the planet or I've been badgered to the point of selling at a loss. So, "screw this", I said.
Now the plan is for me to use the architecture long enough to get fully experimented large harvesters (10 of each kind) for each family member as well as two of each type, floorplan, and size of house for each family member.

I figure master shouldn't take long working on all of this... and it ought to take the better part of six months for me to finish with everyone's requirements. But I have the other three players currently using at least six out of their ten lots in order to harvest the materials for my crafting. I harvest the power, they harvest the ores, steels, coppers, aluminums, and various gasses/chems. I never pay anything for the resources they provide, but I provide them with upgraded harvesters in return.

So, I fit Type 3 almost to a "T". But I don't plan on ever selling a single deed. Well, don't get me wrong, I'll sell stuff. But here's my rule:

"Want to buy a [insert structure]? That will be 5 credits per unit of resource used in manufacturing. Or, [insert total price here]."
Usual responses from players is either:
"OMG ROFL LOL BYE"
or:
"You architects just don't understand, do you? You think you can price gouge me?! WELL YOU CAN'T, YOU GREEDY LITTLE [insert multiple expletives and rants here]!!!"

My final comment to customers that treat me this way (easilly 90% of people looking to buy):
"You don't like it... go build one yourself."

It's all just so frustrating.
I don't know how anyone who became an architect hoping to make money selling structures can stand sticking with the skill. Personally, if I had set out to become an architect in order to get rich, I would have run away and become a weaponsmith loooooooooong ago.
