I doubt the devs would ever go for this, since they seem fixated on keeping our storage abilities low. I'm sure the backpacks counting as one item on the vendor will eventually be phased out.

That said, I think you should be able to recrate identical items if you decide you need it crated again. I also think you should be get all from a crate instead of getting one item from a crate.

I like the idea of small containers that we can put stuff inside.

At the moment I am using unlocked containers I get from mugging swoop gang members and looted cargo pockets. I would love to make small 20 item containers to ease the transfer of items.
