Okay. Here's a new idea for the Devs I'd like to toss out here. It might be popular..It might not. But how about PLAYER placeable Gardens? Each garden could have a SMALL item limit, say 10 items, and each garden would count as 4 lots. If someone is serious about wanting that gorgious view..They'll do a cross-server swap, or something, to get those 4 lots. And 10 peices of furniture wouldn't kill framerates (look at the typical NPC city). Most of us live in cities anyhow now, and most gardens would be in cities, but I know of a few places a nice player garden would be a nice place to rest, and no, not the usual camping spots ie rancor valley, the porches on talus, etc.

As a player benefit, pop in code to make these gardens function as open-air player cantinas, and use the same code to fix theatres? Just a thought.

Another thought..A few newbuilding ideas

A Colosseum. An open aired pit surrounded by benches, and unclimable walls. Clear barriers would stop cheaters from shooting down into said pit. A MCH could release an animal into the pit, and it could be fought by other players, or pets could fight, or robots could even spar in the pits. An in-game betting terminal, useable by any Smuggler with underworld 4, could be set with odds, and players could bet. A share of thepool goes to 'the house' as a money sink. The rest is automatically given to players based on who they bet on, and what odds they set at. Of course, it could be placed by a smuggler with Underworld 4, or a Merchant with an appropriate level 4 skill (not sure what one be best here).

Player Casinos. Or, player placeable gambling machines to be used in any buildings.

A player Stat Migration Booth. Maybe with a 20 minute wait, but good for those out of the way planets.

An Incubation Chamber. Place a baby animal in it, it grows in 24 hours. Low quality ones would weaken the pet's stats. High quality ones would boost stats.

An Oil bath. An incubation Chamber for Droids, with temporary benefits, but requires an oil change kit, that takes 300 units of lube oil or so, per use. But will boost a droid's abilities for so many calls, like a paint job, perhaps as much as an extra K in HAMs.

A heath Spa. Similar to an Incubation Chamber, it would take some BE made micronutrients. perhaps Micronutrient suppliments, giving novice BEs some needed market share. A player sits in it, for 10 minutes, and gains a boost to ALL stats. Mental and physical, and loses BF at double the rate (Entertainers at a spa gain double xp) Of course, the rate could be toyed around with, it's just an idea here. Of course, the nutrients would be PER CUSTOMER, and somewhat expensive, for a moderate to small boost. The real benefit, is the lowered downtime. Another option- instead of a buff... the player would gain BF at half the normal rate for the next 4 hours. Spend 10 minutes in a spa, and for 4 hours, you'll be cool and relaxed, and less apt to get frazzled nerves from a messy situation.

A player house for a chef. it would add up to 10% to the boost from any food eaten while inside, would include a food crafting station, and a free merchant that would automatically look like a random NPC with chef clothes, to sell the player's foods. Master Chef to place, of course.

A new marketplace or bazaar building for Merchants. the tents are cool, but an actual MALL, using 8 lots (so we can have a home too), placeable by a MASTER merchant only. It would allow anyone on admin to place a vendor, 5% of all sales inside would automatically be given to the merchant who owns the building. It would have a hallway, two floors, and stairs (no elevators, I hate those things, they're buggy). Each floor would have 4-6 'boutiques' in which a player may place a sign, and decorate, the merchant can give admin to a single room to a player or guild. So a guild could have a recruiter at the local mall, much like the USArmy does in many, an ID could have their shop there, a band could set up a door charge, all master musicians and dancers, and run a healing/buffing service. No tips, pay the doorman, and go. A doctor could have a paid clinic. Door fee, get in, and get buffed or healed or whatnot. Merchants could use a little love in this game, it's a player based economy, why not let the players actually have a hand in it?

No I don't have a freakin sig. Just make something up and pretend it's here man. woman. umm...Whatever.

more storage space in houses!!!

I'm constantly running out of space. look at the numbers.

10 small houses - 10 lots- 750 items

6 lots - 1 large house - 450 items? nope only 250

I currently have 10 houses out there for storage and private use. If I didn't have non-crafter friends who did not own houses, I'd be screwed! We need a warehouse building, available only to masters of any profession that holds lots of items.

1)i agree completely, this is the only thing that keeps me from buying anything over a medium. because its a useless waste of lots. they need to redo the lot/storage ratio. why do i buy a large thats twice the maintenance of a medium and holds the same amount? yeah it's bigger space but you end up using all the item count decorating one or two rooms when you still have alot left bare. i would even take a double price increase on large houses if they just used the right amount of lot/item ratio. it's just ratarded having to own 5 houses at 20-30k each, i would rather pay for a large 6lot at 200k or more if it freakin held 75items per lot.

2)and that mall idea sound pretty good. i think they should implement room administration. even if its in a special "merchant mall style building" or a guild hall. anything that big you should be able to set permission to rooms. that way you can have multiple merchants or tenants that can open up shop or decorate and not have to worry about another player on the house admin list swiping their stuff.

3) new buildings. i agree too. have you actually been through some of the npc buildings inside bestine and mos eisley. they are freakin awesome. its just too bad there's not even any decoration in them.

4)balconies... you should be able to place statues, plants and chairs in them to make a patio or something. i mean whats the purpose of them if they cant be used? for jedi to hide and level? hehe. not sure thats what an architect intended on it being used for.

5)profession storages.- sorta like he said above, maybeinstead of a 75:1 item ratio it has 100:1 or 125:1. catch is, the items you are able to drop in their are specific. exmple master ranger storage. all he can drop in it are hides, meats, bones, and crates of traps. nothing else. no decor, no nothing, just his specific job resources. a master doc would store crates of meds and the specific ingredients for his components like, talus water, tat fiber, lok wheat, janta blood, so on. and so to make the building not too powerful, you cant drop just any organics or metal, only specific ones stated. like stim A's use 6organic 6 inorganic. you shouldnt get the ability to just drop any organic in the storage. only specific ones stated on schematices that you actually have to hunt down like talusian water vapor. this is just a short example, docs dont have too many different resources to gather as compared to weaponsmiths and Armors who have to gather all different specific kinds of crap.

6)house log- craft a house log that logs players names that enter a building and time that gets emailed to owner without having to use a fee on house. make it have charges, like last 5days or so like candles. people can keep track of how many people stop by, so they have a ratio of buyers/browers

im not an architect but i feel for you guys, the way i see, the longer this game stays out and the way it is, you guys lose business. how many people buy harvs anymore? yeah a few, but once you have all the ones you need, you never buy anyagain. i mean i buy armor over and over and it costs a hell of alot more than a harv or house. i mean you only get customers from newbies and people who change jobs, and most of them just borrow equipment from friends. maybe they should stick to the character who opens the deed just like pets do, none tradeable unless you have a skill or something. or buy a deed transfer paperwork from an architect.

sorry for that double post, it said i didnt log in and wasnt posted so i logged in and reposted. just thought of something else, how about making item storage experimentable? the only thing is..

1)is it easy to implement

2)can the experimentation be done in a fair way. because if its too powerful then people wont need to buy extra housing or storage

i only say this because i believe there should be a difference in the house quality if i should buy it from Joe Shmoe or Billy Bob. just like armor and weapons, no one makesthem the same, their should be a difference, some kind of experimentablity. item count, maintenance rate, interior color something something to put to use those skill tapes archs get except just using them on harvs.

what about decay on items like furniture? how often does one player buy furniture... once. at least make it decay every 3-6months or something. then give archs the abilty to walk in a player house, target an item thats low and choose repair which charges the house owner. and the arch makes money. or a tool. not too sure on this last idea. at first it sounded good but after rereading it im not too sure, might be more trouble than what its worth.
