Thread: Furniture items that are in game that architects should get (please add to list)

Adding schematics and adding space for items are two different things.

Adding schematics increases variety and allows people to specialize if they desire.

If you had say (random number) 20 pieces of furniture from each planet all craftable. Then you could see people specializing in "hot nobooian furniture" or whatever.

The people who buy the furniture are still stuck with the same item limit as before. Now its just they have more choices. You can have one room thats all Naboo furniture. One room thats all Tatooine. Etc... Instead of having ALL the furniture on ALL the planets be the same.

Think of the role playing..

"Yeah, man, isnt this couch great? Its imported from Tatooine, cost me a bundle."

Maybe they could set it up that you have planet specific craftables. You can only craft Naboo furniture on Naboo or whatever. That would make the cross planet furniture economy (lol) sprout new ideas as people actually travel to distant/expensive places to bring back furniture. Or an architect goes ahead and builds a ton and goes off pawning it in other planets. Etc..

I was also thinking, and this kind of goes with this thread, that some furniture should have stats and that THAT is what experimentation affects.

If they ever fix it so you can lay down on beds. Laying down could be twice as regenerating as sitting.

Certain couches and chairs could have certain healing properties that heal the HAMs differently.

Maybe someone else can think of some better ideas.

As a future dream, there could be a level of 'rest' similar to food. You dont HAVE to sit/sleep, but sitting and sleeping boosts your stats to a certain level for a certain period of time. If you sit in a really comfortable chair for 10 minutes before you go out hunting you get an extra number of poitns on one of your HAM bars, or a combination. Then it wears back down to normal.

i definitely like the coloring furniture idea, but lets add to that and make it a prof on it's own? requirement furniture 4 + construction 4? Interior Designer profession to counter balance the city planner prof.

Or better yet, add it to architect so that they can specialize a bit more, we are lacking on things we can make, as it is.

Funny how this thread got hijacked by ideas and not the original intent of what is already out there.

I have seen:
Potted Tree, style 2, and I want one.
Bar like tables in RSF camps
Umbrellas for tables
tents
Canisters
Free standing lamp style 2
Medic beds or the small blue single bed

Property enclosures or the addons to housing like you see with plainspeople on naboo.. they have a courtyard.

Fences on Tat.

Statues/Monuments
Stones with writing (zen garden ooh)

Of course we will get none of this till there DB is solid. We already pollute the db waay to much for their liking.

-C9- I'm a furniture vendor with such limited selection.

colored lights, I see them in towns, but a little colored light ( we get to choose) would be nice to put in homes and could shine in one direction.

lawn chairs that are seen in camps

the beds that are seen in camps, look like medical beds kinda

I think somesort of an elevaded stage would be nice. Could just drop it, and fit it in a corner and then u can walk up the slope or stairs on the side.

I would like to see furniture for outside the house. The medium and large houses have outside places where you can't put any furniture (last time I checked anyway). Having some chairs and tiki torches out there would really be pretty cool. Would also expand the "useful" floor space of the house.

Once Sabacc is added into the game, Master Architects should be able to make Sabacc tables.

OH! and once that crazy virtual monsterchess game is added in, (the one that R2 and Chewy played in New Hope), Master Architects should be able to make that too.

All types of rugs, and paintings, or pictures.

Finally, signs. When my friends and I start our PA the basement areas are going to be our little areas and we each want a sign marking which one is whos. Signs should be simple to put on the walls, and can easily be changed as to what they say.

I would like to see aquariums, bird cages, and similar things that have particle effect/animations. Would give us something to do with all those glowies and butterflies we find in lairs.

Wow, so many ideas! Lots of thought being put into this. I hope it bears fruit.

IMO the thing we need worst is the ability to color our furniture. If tailors can color dresses, it shouldn't be too awfully complicated to let us color sofas. (Especially those god-awful orange things, my dog wouldn't sleep on that. )

Until we get some of these nice items we would like to have, let's use some imagination and create our own furniture!

I thought it was funny, someone mentioned a hologram projector. I've had one of those sitting on my bookcase for about 3 weeks now. And they couldn't be simpler to make; just make a mineral survey device and rename it Hologram Projector. Drop it on the stairs, float it over to your bookcase shelf. Trust me it looks very believeable.

I made a reclining chair named Master and a cafe chair named Slave Girl for my bedroom (no lectures please, we all have our fantasies!:smileywink I have a drink, default name is Ruby something-or-other, and I named it Budweiser. It's sitting on my table next to my Modern Bookcase (as opposed to the first bookcase, which to my eye looks antique, thus Antique Bookcase).

In the designers' infinite wisdom, they gave us 3 (maybe more, I'm not master yet) pieces of furniture lovingly designated as "loveseat". The black and grey one looks like velour to me, so that's what Iname them--"PlushVelour Sofa". I've sold the beejeezus out of them. Thethird loveseat you get isn't even a loveseatat all, it's a Chaise Longue (orshez lounge for the rednecks among us).

The first armoire we get looks like something they dug up at a flea market, with paint splattered on one door. It's certainly NOT bedroom material. It does, however, make a fine Utility Cabinet. I have onebeside my Tall Multi-Drawer Toolchest.

The point I'm trying to make here is this: we may not get any additional furniture anytime soon. But that's no reasonfor us to be stopped. A little ingenuity, some forethought and inspiration, and we can create all kinds of nice thingswhile we waitfor new designs from Sony.

Other things you will find in my home or in homes I have decorated:

-- a laa, which is a type of fish. If you have scout skill, foragesome fishing bait and go catch one, they look great on the wall.

--a garden room. Nothing in the room but lots of trees and the small potted plants.

-- a small black bench. Cunningly wrought of two ottomans jammed together, with a potted tree on each side.

-- a nalargon. Geta musician to make these for you, the musician I got mine from charged me 2K each. They workGREAT in PA halls and large generic planet houses.

-- nemoidian bird cage. This is a master artisan item that looks awesome on top of a "Glass-Top Table".

-- I haven't done this yet because something's always more important, but I'm going to make a schematic named Trunk, or Hope Chest, or something of the like, and run a couple items in a factory. That should give me a named factory crate. Those factory crates are just the right size to be a chest at the foot of the large black beds. (Unlike the round chest they gave us that dwarfs even the large bed).

Keep thinking positive. Don't be afraid to experiment. Make items and drop them in your house just to see what they look like. Sometimes you get quite unexpected results, as I did with the mineral survey device.

I would like to see architects get these items, though Im not an architect

Clothing racks - Mabey displays all types of clothing available and thier pallet for customers to help them to decide?

weapon racks - Guns on the walls, swords crossed over a shield cools stuff that says weapon store.

Wall blueprints - for architect stores

Ejector seats - What else says pilot lounge except ejector seat chairs?

Simulators - Again Pilots lounge

Arcade game stations - non functioning but for show.

Hops - Every bar wants to show people how they brew the beer

Booths - 2 seats and a table mabey several types

Ovens/glass counters - Every bakery has them so should ours.

Abilitys I would like to see added for all classes and architects

The ability to move furniture up and down
More than one person per large furniture item
Lay down on beds
The ability to change colors on the furniture *In the architect crafting phase*
