Howdy Pawlin.

Im not really sure if it is b/c of the holo grinders....I think it must still have something to do with it. On the Wanderhome trade board people are still paying 3cpu and more for grinding ore and steel....Its really nuts...I decided to only sell to one Master Arch now. I sell ANY type of ore and steel at 2.5cpu to her. I can care less the quality or the type in that Im not going to run around and try to find the best quality spawns. When I was a master I had 2 - 3 dedicated miners who always sold to me at 2.2cpu. Even though I told them nowthat I am now selling resources at 2.5cpu to someone they have all (I have now 4 miners) said that they will still sell to me for 2.2cpu. We all now tell each other now if we find a new virgin location with a high percentage.

Im pretty lucky in that my mining spots I have, have always produced now for over 6months spawns of ore in the +65% and steel upwards around 90%. This is in a radius of bout 1800m......

I am a know architect on Corbantis. I sell only the best, and failures go out for petty cash (a BER 12 heavy is on there for 5k). I have over 180 Deeds, Houses harvesters and factories. I sell hvy mins at 135k, fusions at 124k, others at 100k, med's at 20k, PA hall at 350k, lrg house 85k, med 60k, small 5k, factories at 35k each. I have not sold anything, anything at all, in3 weeks.

It used to be one couldn't go across Naboo, or Corellia, heck even Endor, without feilds of placed deeds in your way. Now many places are barren. Hologrinding was good because it gave everyone incentative to buy machines for grinding resources. Hologrinding is ending. Folks are quitting, either boredom or frustration...go pick a reason. No new folks are joining due to bad release press, or AP point PIA... again, go pick a reason. So we have a glut of deeds, that do not decay, that no one uses, and no new blood incoming. It's a classic enclosed business model. If your still doing well, great! But it will end, and soon. We either get something (nothing specific mentioned here), that can decay/destroy/explode/consume, or following the enclosed business model we will stagnate & die. It's simple math.

Howdy Buffbc.

There are many ways to advertise. The first is simple. Add to your sig that your a master arch and that your vendor is located at xyz location. That way if you post on your forums people will see at least what your profession is.

In game there are alot of ways. Always wear your Master Arch title.

I did this early on in my arch tree. I would make a Food Factory or 2 and head to Theed or Coronet and do the Starport Yells. These always sold. Just say something like: "Food/Chem Factories for sale. Also excepting custom orders now." something to that effect. I did this in the beginning to just get my name out there.

The other successful thing i had going was referrels from various people. I would pay a %5 commission of the total purchase to the person who did the referring.

Im sure there are alot of more ideas out there.

Someone mentioned earier in this thread, and Wildman just brought it up again - advertise. It's not the only answer by a long shot, but it is part of the equation.

My business is up and down and I've had to adjust how much stuff I buy from miners to make sure that my income exceeds my expenses in the long run. I have my vendor on the planetary map and a network of satisfied customers. I sell furniture on the Bazaar in Theed (my showroom is immediately south of the Theed starport) with a description and waypoint to my showroom. When someone buys something, I send them an email with a waypoint telling them I have lots of other stuff.

When I get too busy with harvesters, or playing my character on Chilastra, or just tied up in the physical world to neglect the Bazaar and email followup part of my marketing, I notice a drop-off in people flowing through my showroom. So even with the ups & downs, there are some definate "must do" items for me that I can improve on.

I think it's slowing down a bit overall but I think there are things you can do to keep the wolf from your door.

Chilastra: Mikka R'zrPoint, Spy (Master Ranger/Master Pistoleer)
Chilastra: Zalle RazorPoint, Trader:Engineer (Master Architect, Master DE, Master Shipwright) - vendors just north of Theed at -3858 6181

I will make one point, having no decay does suck. I buy a shield generator for 15k it's wasted in an hour of heavy game play if I leave it on. Someone buys a house from me for 10k, they have it forever. Then again, how would you implement such a decay? Based on time? Imagine losing your internet service for a week or something, not only do you lose a 100k+ house, but all the items in it. Even worse, a guild hall. Plus over the course of a real life time, houses really don't "decay" do they? What abouta house fireorflood due to lack of the architect's skills, or forgetting to pay maintainence. I can see factories and harvesters decaying, they all have moving parts.

One idea was servicable 'parts' or repair items for decay/damage on structures.

What if every month or two an architect, or architect parts, were needed for upkeep on structures - add a dozen wall units to your house to repair it or something like that?

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

I think kreg just needs to advertise more, i know people who sell masses of harvestors...to resource dealers etc, even people who do it for a hobby to make extra money......making 4mil a day off ber13's etc

It's dying thats why I'm sellng my walls, I got over 100 of them but no orders for anything so they are going. I'll keep a few to make a couple things but the rest will go. Going to stock up on different things then say bye bye to the arch. profession. At least with a combat profession you can make money on hunts and have a little more fun doing it.
