Servados...I thank you. That is exactly the kind of information I was looking for. Ore is good ore is great but thats not a secret and pig ore is plentifull when your a 0000 architect running 16 harvesters.

You got some really good advice here!

when making houses and factories QU matters not!

you need some carb ore for the gen turbs, but the res can be any ore and steel almost.

harvesters are a little trikier, and if i where take it slow, people are very BER sensitve.

A 130k 14 ber can become a 75k 12 ber harvester real fast.

I have to say it, I have been trying not to, ORE

I have 4 factories and one is always making struct mods, I go thru2,000,000 ore a week.

just to give you an idea of what needing ore means.

I took a year to getthat level of use and there are architecs out there that make me looktiny.

as you funds build trade lots and build static feilds of med size min harvesters.meds have the best return on cost toperBER.

I have over a50 min harvesters alone, and you don't want to have to move them once a week

ORE

if you are going to make harvesters check the how to make BER 13 harv's link, i have been harvesting the new steel with all three stats over 900, you can find out what stats are importent by looking in the bottom right corner of the scamatic you are trying to make. scrole down to the bottom and you can see what stat is the most importent.

i use the steel 320units and the lube oil 330 units and exparament up to 97% that gives me aBER of 6 make a tone of these and store them in a vendor for 9999999, the rest of the components like the wall mods and generator turbines i use my crap resources because they will not count in the rating in thefinished product.

now its time to combine all the required meterials and make your harvester. use nothing but high OC resourses and the components you made earlyer and exparament up to BER 13, if you have XP points left after you have reached BER13 move onDON'T use the rest of the points in the hopper size, only because you can get a critical falure and lose 1 BER. I hope this helps andsorry for my spelling.

I want to give you some advice without delving into material already coverd in the FAQ and other threads. It is easy to figure out what resources you need to make a good harvester. It is all written out and already covered.

it seems the thing you really need to hear is along the lines of as follows.

You have 8 lots to use for harvesting.

as an architect you can keep them and many more busy from now to eternety harvesting ore and such and still need more. That being said you will never get enough ore. I have proven this probably more than any opther architect. 20 million units of ore can be used up before you take delivery of it. the biggest restricting factor is the time your factories take to turn that ore into structure mods and walls. and with over 10 factories 20 million ore doesnt last long I can assure you. so dont start off trying to horde ore.

you will never really be able to horde it and it is best left as something that you constantly seek.

it seems to me you want to know what good resources you should stash away while you grind so that you can get right to work when the grind is over. Well those resources have pretty much already been named.

Here is the key to success.

if you have 8 lots, never dabble in a resource. Dont but 3 on lube oil, 3 on ore and 2 on the duraloy steel that just spawned.

you will end up with functional amounts of each, but I assure you there is a way to make your harvesting much easier.

if there is a steel with 900+ UT SR HR and you have little to none of it place ALL 8 harvesters on it and suck every single bit of it you can. 7-10 days at 10k+ per harvester per day X 8 harveszters and you should be able to get 500k to a 1 million of this resource. You wont need to worry about steel for a long long time. also having such a large amount now means you can make schematics for 1000 and not keep making tiny little baby runs of things that only server to make the job harder.

sure you wont have the instant supply of everything you need, but I assure you it is so helpfull.

place all 8 lots on lube oil just once and you are set for a very very long time. You also get familiar with the resource you hoardeed. by name and by stats.

something that is a little hard to find as it usually spawns less often that most of the others is a really nice ore for final craft purposes. Ore specificly the common ores like siliclastic and carbonate usually have low stats. if you see a spawn of 900+ UT SR HR ore Immediately place all 8 lots on it.

Intrusive is most often a very high quality ore as is Extrusive. the bonus is that Inonite Intrusive ore is a resource needed for master architect leve furniture and you can kill 2 birds with one stone there.

also the best intrusive ore ever to spawn on my server was an Ionite and is worth 240 cpu last time I saw it sold. because of my hording ways I have about1million of this stuff and if I ever decide to sell it I am done crafting forever ok maybe not, but you see harvesting "smart" can make you a very wealty person.

so remember even if you ever get a harvesting helper. still dont dabble. put all 16 harvs on the one resource. if a server best resource spawns get all your frinds to harvest it for you. pay them for the help, give then the harvs and power to do it. I know because of my networking I have big bucks in resources. and more importantly I can stop harvesting everything(except ore) right now and craft for a full year without running out.

I agree with Weasle - it can be hard at first (e.g., my starting architect on the test center still has harvesters on ore + aluminum) but as soon as you possibly can (through a mixture of harvesting and purchasing) switch to harvesting one thing at a time. It saves you time surveying and fussing with harvesters and it gives you a BIG batch of a single resource to use in factory runs. I tend to have all my harvesters out on Ore *unless* some godly steel is around (which is better than I have), in which case I'll mine that. I buy lube oil, aluminum, copper, and gastypically, as well as just junk steel.

It's a lot nicer to put out 6, 8, 10, whatever harvesters on a single spawn in a single place, fill them up with power and money for 10+ days, and then just go back either when it shifts away or (if you got a high concentration) if the hoppers fill up. When you compare that to having 2-4 different spots for your harvesters on spawns with different shift rates such that you are running out to some set of harvesters every 2-4 days, it's a huge time saving.

There's alot of people that like and dislike Static harvestors but give it some thought. Renting 8 lots from someone for say 80k-100k (probably cheaper..thats what I pay) a week and dropping them in a fairly consistent spot can be very profitable. Nothing wrong with buying your materials when you have to but building up a small field of 30-60 Medium harvestors can pay off in the long run. Medium are cheap and at ber10 can pull quite a bit of material. Even on a 40% resource they are paying for themselves and saving you a fair share of money versus paying even 2cpu for you resources. I would recommend renting 16 lots from people and saving your 6 lots (2 house-2 factory) for the special spawns that you need like steel or fusion power.

AlsoIron ( Kamris usually) can be a nice filler for final assembly on extractors and usually has stats as high or higher then carb steel.

Lube Oil (nuff said)

Wall serial numbers are not used when making a schematic.

Just because you have enough to make a large quantity of something doesnt mean you have to make them all at once. Stick in half and build half to save on room if needed, you can always stick the schem back in and build the rest.

The input hopper on your factory = storage space

Consider a vendor for resources....yes you need what you bring in but that 976conductivity copper you where gunna make walls with can sell for 3-5cpu which can be used to buy cheaper copper at a lower price.
